Ys Origin

[u]Ys Origin[/u] – приквел к серии замечательных игр, выполненных в жанре изометрической Action RPG. Действие разворачивается за семь веков до событий [url=store.steampowered.com/app/223810/Ys_I__II_Chronicles/]Ancient Ys Vanished[/url], проливая свет на [b]концептуальную сторону[/b] всего дальнейшего сторителлинга (вот почему, на мой взгляд, знакомство с франшизой лучше начинать именно с этой части). Подача ощущается очень приятно, но [i]с некоторыми оговорками[/i]. Основной проблемой является [i]монотонность повествования[/i] и заметный акцент на [i]архетипах персонажей[/i]. К базовым механикам и геймплею в целом вопросов нет, а вот музыкальное сопровождение отлично резонирует с [b]эстетикой мрачного фэнтези[/b]. По сути, [i]меланхоличная[/i] концепция [url=store.steampowered.com/app/251150/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_in_the_Sky/]Trails in the Sky[/url] для PS3 значительно улучшает восприятие визуального стиля. What an entry into the franchise!!! Connects the dots and establishes the lore for Ys 1,2 Chronicles (this takes place 700 something years before Adol's adventure on Ys). There are initially 2 charaters which we can play as, with slightly branching but similar storylines, but on completing ur 1st playthrough with any of the 2 characters, the 3rd character unlocks - which is canon to the storyline of Ys Origin (although I recommend playing through the initial 2 both and then the 3rd - unlocked one). I played through all the 3 characters and honestly, the combat is a lot of fun with all (all 3 of them have different combat styles so gameplay-wise not much repitition, although story-wise - lot of elements will be similar but to have the full context and to understand the true ending u need alll 3 playthroughs - which is not that long tbh - max 6-8hrs per playthrough). Won't recommend nightmare on first playthrough as it needs a lot of grind and bosses are almost unbeatable if u r the same level to that of a boss... The balancing is good, the grind is good and the pace is perfect. Combat is what shines the most. If u played Ys 1&2 before this, you will enjoy YS ORIGIN. Overall, Great game.... Would highly recommend... 9/10

I think nostalgia is a defining factor to why I love this game. But while it did serve as the hook and the basis to why this game is dear to me, the gameplay and music did by no means disappoint. Ys Origin gives off this medieval Zelda vibe to it, and the isometric 2.5D perspective and chibi characters is representative of that old-school JRPG aesthetic, filled with cool magic and ugly monsters alike. Having released in 2006 on Windows XP gives it that extra charm that I love. 8/10 wish I found this sooner

I experienced almost instant regret on opening this game. It plays like a hard old-school game, in a simple tower dungeon level with ugly ass enemies. You are probably more likely to like this if you like old, hard retro games. Of course this can be an old easy retro game if you choose to play on an easy difficulty. I think like all the other Ys games are better than this one. I enjoyed Oath in Felghana but I don't like Origins at all. It's just one big level instead of a world you can explore.

I enjoyed the game more than I thought I would, it reminded me of some older game. This was my first "Ys" and I will consider the other ones in the future. I know there is more than one ending, but there was something I'd rather not do again so soon lol.

No major changes from Felghana, but it doesn't need any. Probably the most interesting setting and story in a Ys game thus far. Alongside the 3 unique playable characters, its got enough going on to make it feel very fresh. The way it connects to Ys 1 and 2 is wonderful, and its nice to see things come full circle before the series took its new direction.
