I came back to settle some unfinished business, so don't expect an unbiased opinion from me. Back in 2005, I owned this game on 4 CDs. The edition looked expensive, though that still didn't save me from a game crash during the Church mission. I will be honest: when I replayed the game recently, for brief a moment, I genuinely thought it was going to crash there again. Thankfully, it didn't. I had an absolute blast playing it from beginning to end. Despite being a very dynamic game, sometimes it changes its pace, and it never becomes boring because of it. Perhaps, I am not a very experienced gamer, but I do think XIII has a unique visual style. Even today, I struggle to think of anything quite like it. The comic-book-style cutscenes and transitions, cel shaded world, zoom-in panels during headshots - all of it works wonderfully together and feels great. The soundtrack deserves the same praise. XIII Classic — гра, яка в дитинстві здавалася справжнім бойовиком, а зараз викликає приємну ностальгію. Пам'ятаю, як вперше запустив її й одразу закохався в цей коміксовий стиль. Локації тут постійно змінюються: секретні бази, військові об'єкти, засніжені місцевості та ще багато цікавих місць. Гра не встигає набриднути, бо постійно підкидає щось нове. Боси та особливі вороги добре запам'ятовуються, а сюжет із втратою пам'яті тримає інтригу до самого фіналу. Плюси: Неймовірний стиль. Різноманітні локації. Хороший сюжет із загадкою особистості головного героя. Мінуси: Деякі чекпоінти розташовані невдало, через що після смерті доводиться перегравати великі шматки рівня. Деякі стелс-секції можуть дратувати. Гра відносно коротка. Чудова гра дитинства, яка й сьогодні здатна подарувати кілька дуже приємних вечорів.

Um clássico, mas sem condições de se jogar hj em dia, já que temos o remake. Não sei porque o remake tem tanta review negativa, não sei se estava bugado quando saiu, ou hate de fã bobo... Joguei em 2026 e adorei. Achei ele muito melhor de jogar, principalmente por conta das melhorias na jogabilidade, visando qualidade de vida. Não recomendo que jogue essa versão clássica, jogue o remake! (A não ser q vc seja muuuito saudosista)

Better than Red Dead 2.

Its very stylish but it's very dated. It's not a long game, 6-8 hours or so. And once you finish it, that's it. The game resets and you cannot go back and replay anything. So keep that in mind that once you finish the last mission you CANNOT GO BACK. The story is full of esponiage cliches and I love it. Adam West voices one of the main characters. The story ends very abruptly on a cliffhanger and there is no sequel. However, the game is based of a long running comic series so read that if you want to get the full story. The soundtrack is exceptionally good. Lots of high tempo big band jazz in the James Bond style with a little bit of breaks mixed in. There is a song that numerious NPCs sing along to in this game and you will be singing it once you have played the game. AFAIK they made that song just for this game. The actual gameplay isn't that great when compared to newer FPS games. It tries to make you be stealthy but also doesn't punish you that much for it. There is some very awkward platforming using a grappling hook you have to do. And more then a fun instant failures due to scripted sequences you have to follow exactly. Also there are minor bugs. The cel shaded graphics doesn't render well sometimes. The mouse doesn't really work when using the game menu. And if you set mouse speed to zero it will make the mouse stop working entirely. The game does not support modern resolutions and is locked to 4:3, however there is a fan patch out there if you want them. I played through the game as is at 1600x1200 and was fine. The levels look great but the forced stealth sections can be painful as the room for error is almost zero. Almost all the guns have insane shot spread so other then the sniper, the crossbow, and the magnum they are all useless at range. That said, it does this cool "picture in a picture" thing whenever you have something to focus on, or when you kill someone with a headshot. And that never stops being cool. Ulimately, this is a game entirely about style over substance. The gameplay is not that great by modern standards. But the stylish choices in the art direction and design are why this game has a reputation for being a cult classic. The dialogue is snappy and entertaining, and the levels are fun. It's currently selling for probably a little too high. But if you like classic FPS games, then definitly pick this up on sale for $5.

needs a remake

This version scales down the UI at higher resolutions despite them literally being in the options menu, plus theres really annoying mouse acceleration you cant disable. Honestly better to play the console versions

불의의 사고로 기억을 잃은 한 남자가 자신의 조국을 구하고 자신에게 얽힌 비밀을 풀어나가는 잠입 액션 게임입니다. 고전 명작으로 유명해서 구매했는데 2003년도에 카툰풍 그래픽을 시도했다는 점도 신기하고 스토리도 나름 참신한 편입니다. 과거에 출시 당시 더빙까지 포함한 완전한 한글화로 출시했었고 스팀 버전에선 없어졌지만 유저패치를 통해 더빙은 적용 할 수 있어 스토리 진행에 큰 불편함은 없었습니다. 벽 너머를 확인할 수 있는 방법이 없는 대신 발소리를 만화속 글씨체로 시각화 했고 CCTV를 보고 있는 적을 먼저 처리해야 자유롭게 이동이 가능한 점 등 2003년도 작품인걸 생각하면 신선한 부분들이 많은 게임입니다 플레이타임도 저처럼 헤매지만 않는다면 7시간 정도이구요. 주말 같은 날 아샷추 한잔 옆에 두고 하면 좋을 것 같슴다
