About
In Transience, you become the hunter - an Accountant. Armed with the latest weaponry and tech, your job is to keep the books balanced... By any means necessary. Only this time, you are the intended target.

Single-Player Campaign
A story told through the lens of Eli Reed, an accountant-for-hire who ends up on the wrong side of the gun. Redlisted and on the run, you must uncover the mystery of who placed the bounty and why. Utilize near-future weaponry to take out your enemies as you take steps to clear your name.
Heavily inspired by gritty narratives we played growing up, the story unfolds in a way that keeps you at the edge of your seat. 9 missions spread out over 9 incredible hand-crafted environments, telling the story of one mans journey out of Transience.
Fully Voiced Dialogue
Combat and Stealth Gadgets
Multi-Approach Maps
Tactical Stealth Action
Inspired by many tactical games from back in the day, we aimed to combine the maneuverability and fluidity of a Third Person Stealth game, with the slower pacing of a First Person Shooter. Become the spectre in the walls, the shadow picking off survivors one by one. Sometimes staying out of sight is only one way to complete the objective. Sometimes a more active and aggressive hand is required. Transience offers the player a ton of ways to approach objectives, from Stalking in the shadows, Running and Gunning down corridors or a blend of both. Utilize an arsenal of customizable weaponry to make your enemies fear your presence. You are the accountant.
Deep Weapon Customization
Powered by NWS™ (New World Systems) this industry-wide standard has allowed weapons manufacturers to interchange attachments and core parts at will. Take an SMG and turn it into an Assault Rifle or take an Assault Rifle and modify it into a DMR. Throughout the story, you will find attachments and weapons via stashes found around the environments that allow you to build and customize weapons on the fly. With 13 base weapons to discover throughout the campaign, NWS™ makes your survival odds that much easier.
A Whole New World
Take on the city of New Houston in the year 2056. Peace has been torn apart by a sudden conflict overseas, resulting in war-time prosperity. Government contracts are king, and advancement at any cost for the war effort drives industry in America. Corporations have gained so much influence from the new status quo that they have become the de facto law of the land. Currency is shifting towards digital under the government’s nose, funded by the innovative new technologies in their most dangerous forms being researched and shipped out to the war. Propaganda insists that the scraps of progress trickle down to the citizens, a half-truth. Access the advanced technology of corporate influence, from shrinking forms of medical tech to quieter suppressors and magnetic subway lines, the city is full of gadgets to use and weaknesses to exploit.
NNCG "Eclipse" Suit
Developed by NOVASKIN™ - This Nitro-capsule Gilded Undersuit was initially built for the war efforts overseas. The suit provided the wearer with solid kevlar-superior protection for quick engagements, featuring lightweight armor panels attached to a thin form-fitting undersuit. Powered by N-caps, this low-energy-consumption equipment is one of several premier front-line suit designs in existence today, always outperforming its competition by a country mile. The secret is in the underlying layer of specially developed Non-Newtonian Colloid that temporarily provides the wearer with reactive armor. Hardly anything can pierce this extremely effective protection whilst it's active. This suit will also give you access to a number of gadgets to help you along your journey: from a distraction tool, to a Flash Pulse for blinding enemies. And, of course, Night Vision.

If it weren't for the fact that I won this in a giveaway, I would have refunded this game. I feel entitled for a refund regardless simply because of the waste of time for me. Intro is the longest and most dreadfully boring cinematic i've ever had to sit through, the gunplay and stealth is clunky most of the time, and AI ranges from mindless to spec ops with no consistency anywhere. I tried to be open-minded to the lore, but even then it is a complete cluster ♥♥♥♥ and it feels like they attempted to force it down your throat all in the beginning. As for how I got the game, yes I did win it in a Big Fry giveaway. Yes, I also still watch his content and enjoy the OTHER things he does. However the glaze of this game in order to get the games rating over 70% is diabolical. The only reason this game sits over 70% is because he encouraged the rest of his fan base to turn it around for him. This game in my opinion is not worth your time or money, even if its on a sale. With it being free to me, it felt easier to be excited and interested in the game, and it completely failed in almost every way. Save your money and your time and go play a trending indie game or something.
Insufferably derivative of recent games in the cultural zeitgeist, mainly Ready or Not and Cyberpunk 2077 with a bit of half-assed Splinter Cell stealth mechanics thrown in for good measure. Transience uses the word "corpo" at least 10 times during the opening monologue and then attempts to one-up F.E.A.R's latter half with a condominium crawl from hell that seems to have the express purpose of running out the refund timer before the awful optimisation and dreadfully trope-heavy narrative can make you think enough is enough. Oh it has the Max Payne comic book cutscene thing going for it at first and then does away with it entirely by the next time a cutscene rolls around, lame!
bigfry has certainly proven that having a team and money will result in a better game than a 1-man $0 project, but does it make it a good game? i don't really think so and i ain't letting that refund timer run out. gunplay is great but it seems oriented towards CQB style gameplay and instead the game has all this half-assed stealth slop in it that just really annoys me. lots of tacticoolness and a futuristic dystopian story thats so cliche they used the word "corpo" like 10 times in the opening sequence
Wow, first impressions? The game looked not too bad. Upon first boot, I was greeted with a cool main menu with some cool futuristic sound design to match. I load up the story and I'm impressed by the intro segment. However, the comic art style was bad. It just looked cheap. The yapping of the protagonist was extremely boring. I've beaten Max Payne 3 multiple times, and hearing Fry compare this to that game is a joke. Max Payne even after all of these years, stomps the life out of Transience. Seeing the in-game billboard advertisements created by community members was a really cool sight to see. But, that doesn't constitute a good game. The budget was $250,000, from what BigFry says. The hype didn't meet my expectations. The bad : - ADS bug preventing player from aiming down sights - Sometimes melee doesn't trigger - AI stalks player through walls (Turn character slightly away from enemy and watch AI run at you) - Horrible visuals and awful FPS for scoped weapon (Sniper) - Wave survival gadgets don't work (Noise dart does NOTHING, "Come get me" doesn't work either) - AI has nearly perfect accuracy leading to unfair deaths - Some level layouts don't make sense
Possibly the worst shooter I've ever Played
This game sucks, to put it simply. Combat is sluggish, lanky and enemies are capable of beaming you like they're Bullseye. Level design sucks flat out. Lack of gore and blood effects at the very least, which is at the very least expected in a game described by developers as: "BLOOD INTENSE VIOLENCE STRONG LANGUAGE" Which is, not true at all. And when the guy in the fifth mission explains the story of why he did all that ♥♥♥♥, he trails on about his sick niece or sister or whatever and it makes absolutely no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense at all. He goes on and on about "you're a government plant, my sister died even with government resources, I replaced by betters" and superiority-complex ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like that. Do not buy, even on sale. I would take back the 5.1 hours of my life wasted on this game if I could.
The game lacks clear direction, the AI is frustrating, and the difficulty is completely unbalanced. Even on Easy difficulty, the game feels far too hard. It tries to combine the slow, methodical gameplay of Splinter Cell with the tactical combat of Rainbow Six and a bit of FEAR, but the result doesn't work. There are simply too many enemies for this style of gameplay. You die extremely quickly, and the very first combat encounter took me over a dozen attempts. Stealth is also disappointing. Hiding in the shadows should make you much harder to detect, but enemies seem to spot you almost instantly. Their reaction times are unrealistically fast, and their accuracy feels like they're all expert snipers. Combat in tight corridors is especially frustrating. Open areas work a little better, but not when the game throws 20+ enemies at you in a single section, that can spot even in vents from long distance. At times, it even feels like enemies are endlessly respawning. Getting the suit makes the game more enjoyable, but then the developers start packing over 50 enemies into small areas. They can accurately snipe you with pistols and MP5s from surprising distances, which makes fights feel more unfair than challenging. I also ran into a terrible checkpoint. Every time I respawned, there was already an enemy standing directly in front of me who immediately opened fire, while two more enemies were positioned behind me. It was an incredibly frustrating section to get through because I was taking damage the moment I loaded in. The shield injection system is bad. You can't carry enough shield injections to deal with the amount of combat the game throws at you, and each one only restores about 30% of your armor. Ammo is another issue. The game follows the old Splinter Cell logic of giving you only one to three bullets from defeated enemies, but that design doesn't fit a game that constantly rushes you with groups of eight or more enemies. You're almost always running low on ammunition. The alert system is also lacking. The "!" and "?" icons don't tell you whether an area has actually been cleared, leaving you guessing if it's safe to move on. Easy difficulty doesn't feel easy—it doesn't even feel like a normal difficulty setting. Finally, the game's tone tries very hard to be cool, but despite the effort put into the story presentation, it never becomes particularly engaging. There are optimization issues, it slowed down in some areas for some reasons. If you're looking for a good tactical singleplayer shooter, I'd recommend Rainbow Six Vegas or SWAT 4 instead. This game isn't difficult because of slow movement, gunplay and player's patience requirement—it's difficult because of poor design. I give it 4.5/10, and I would rather play garbage like Soldier of Fortune Payback and have more fun.
Fun game solid action and stealth options, though stealth seems a whole lot harder to actually pull off.
I have given this game a shot 3 times now and only managed to play 100min. I have no issues with performance, but there seems to be a glitch where your gun just does not fire and its VERY frustrating. The narrator has an annoying monotone voice, which I think was trying to sound gritty but its just plainly annoying. Good idea for a game, but like others have noticed: the AI is very inconsistent. Either they spot you and you are dead before you can react, or they look at you and not notice you. The good: -Good idea of trying to recreate something like splinter cell. -No crashes during the 100min playtime. The bad: - AI can be more consistent. - Unable to shoot glitch makes me not want to play. - Monotone voice narration.
It's honestly not bad, I don't really care about the story so far or what is happening, But the combat is inoffensive and works fine as an action stealth game. Play on Hard and it only takes a few shots to take you down, A.I. Definitely isn't the greatest, But for $10 you really could do so much worse but also so much better. It's one of those games that won't make you mad that you bought it.
