the first windlands was a 5/5 great game but this one is damn near unplayable due to the horrible design choices made by the team. whomever decided to add the same repetitive and monotonous battles over and over should be brought out back behind the studio and shot.
good first playthrough
This fetch quest simulator will have you going back and forth through the same scenes over and over, occasionally having boring, uninspired fights along the way. You'll have this game mastered in about 30 minutes, since the maximum movement speed is dreadfully slow and the archery is more spray-and-pray than focused and precise. Speaking of movement, it's incredibly drifty in this game. If you're moving even a little quickly when you land on the ground and don't grapple something right away, you'll slide right off the edge. For a game that's built around small platforms and combat, I cannot possibly fathom why they chose to give the character nearly 0 friction. There's also no penalty for dying which, I believe, is motivated by the combat being so bad. You''ll rarely die from enemy attacks (at least as far as I've gotten into the game), but you'll likely die constantly from falling off small platforms as you try to hit small weakpoints on enemies who are shooting homing projectiles and jumping around the arena. Due to the map design surrounding the fights, you'll often find that, once you slip off an edge, there will be nothing to grapple onto as you fall for 3-4 seconds. I honestly cannot recommend anyone buy this game for less than half-off and, even then, only pick it up if you absolutely love archery, a simplistic art style, and swinging through the air.

This is a pretty fun, chill game, but it's also not gonna blow your socks off. I played through it with a friend in co-op and I think this is the best way to play if possible. The premise is simple; you swing around to get from point A to point B, then shoot some enemies with the bow and do it all over again. The game is overall quite easy and there's only a few tricky traversal sections. My main criticism of the game is that despite its rather short runtime, the game can sometimes feel like it's getting boring/dragging. Some of the boss fights can take a really long time with all of the shields you need to destroy and you will spend the game killing the same 3 or so enemies. There's also quite a bit of backtracking and sometimes the quest marker is not super clear where you need to go. I also found the first game had a more "zen" vibe to it similar to Journey or Abzu that this sequel lacks. The act of just swinging around like spiderman, however, is truly fun in and of itself and thinking about how you are going to fling yourself to the next point can be really enjoyable. Firing the bow mid air and landing the perfect shot from across the map can also be very satisfying.
This reminds me the amazing "To the top" VR game, but here, instead of climbing you are "flying" like a Spider-Man. It's definitely much better that the Windlands 1, plus now you get a bow and some boss fights (the first one is pretty awkward though). The first part of the game is pure joy of flying. After you get through the portals, it gets much harder as there is not much to grab anymore. And then there is the cactus... OMG the cactus is literally killing me! :D Also, some jumps are just crazy hard, no wonder only 7% players actually finished the game! But I definitely liked the challenge! The final climb up was very satisfying, there is something about climbing that just feels right. I'm looking forward to play the "Titan Isles" you've just released (it's the reason I'm replaying this gem). Thank you for such a lovely game :)
Movement is a ton of fun and pulling the bow out to shoot some bosses feels very natural. Will for sure keep playing, I'm loving the world so far!
блин, почему так коротко? Геймплей хороший, надо было развивать тему =(
This was my very first vr game and it will always be special to me. To this day it is still some of the most fun I've ever had in vr. It's just so much fun swinging around those beautiful environments, and the combat is pretty fun as well. Though not super in depth in terms of mechanics, it still holds up well, even among modern vr games.
ta bueno, es mas dificil que el 1
Spider-man with a bow.
