So, you go to a VR arcade and you try out this Arizona Sunshine game and you like it, so you go home and you pay hard earned money to get your own legal copy. Except the jerks at Vertigo Games took your money and sold you an inferior product in order to give VR arcade operators a "competitive advantage". Competitive against whom? Other paying customers? Go jump off a cliff, Vertigo Games. And take your VR arcade sycophants with you.
F*ck you, that's why! Also, e9,99 extra get's you an upgrade to the REMAKE. What do you get? Multiplayer. But do note that the Multiplayer was also in this game, but taken out. Because I guess they'd earn more if you spend €9,99 extra. Serioulsy, scummy.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I only bought this game because of the coop and really enjoyed this game. But shutting down the servers without giving any alternative is not okay. If the game would allow direct IP connetions or use the P2P network features offered by Steam it would not require any servers being hosted. I will never buy any games from Vertigo anymore if the multiplayer of games is just being shut down like this.
Incredibly short; I beat it in 2 and a half hours. The gunplay is okay at best but in general this felt more like a tech demo more than anything else. If you can get this for like $5, sure, but not at full price.
- Adds multiplayer achievements - Removes multiplayer mode - Refuses to elaborate further
Arizona Sunshine is one of the few biggest titles for VR from 2016 which nowadays feels quite dated, but can still be enjoyed for what it is. "Sunshine! Wooohoo!!- oh and some Freddies." - Unnamed Protagonist The story is basically just a dude with one-liners trying to escape from the zombie horde ridden Arizona landscape. Pros: - Can look great at times - It's pretty fun to play - Quite a lot of guns - Voice acting is goofy, but in a good way - Horde Game mode - Steam achievements, Trading Cards etc. Neutral: - Can't say much about the soundtrack - Looks pretty dated, but for a VR Title from 2016, it's not horrible. - Pretty short for its price, 3-4 hours - Controls can be quite janky at times - DLCs Cons: - Zombies can move in a stuttering manner making it harder to shoot them - No melee weapons or bashing with your guns, huge letdown when you run out of ammo - Sometimes the game doesn't let you go out from a certain zone when a horde attacks for example which is really annoying - Some absurd steam achievements. Possibly not going to 100% this game because of those. - Some settings are reset each time I launch the game, for example the speed of smooth turning 7/10 For a VR game from 2016 it's okay, though I advise against buying it at full price, wait for a sale and get the full package with DLCs. I hope these developers have come a long way since the launch of this title as I do not want to see the new Metro VR game flop. I see many people calling this game “bad” now because the servers were shut down on July 1st, 2025. To clear things up — this happened because Unity discontinued the UNET service, which powered the game’s online multiplayer. For multiplayer to work again, the developers would have to completely rebuild the game’s network system. That’s not realistic for an older title, especially when there’s already a remake with better graphics and active player support. So, if you want to play multiplayer, get Arizona Sunshine: Remake or Arizona Sunshine 2, which also features an 8-hour campaign. We loved you, Arizona Sunshine (2016). You’ll be missed. For anyone thinking about buying this to relive the old days — it no longer has multiplayer (if you hadn’t noticed). Grab it on sale instead; the Deluxe Edition often drops to around $5 USD and is still worth it for the nostalgia.
This title is absolutely worth playing but you should make sure that it is your first VR game or at least your first VR first person shooter. I beat the game in 3.6 hours and it is, to be honest, a zombie shooter-styled tech demo. This game was released in 2016 and it is definitely showing it's age. If you are brand new to VR, I would recommend playing Job Simulator, The Lab, Arizona Sunshine, Vertigo, Bonelab/Boneworks, Into the Radius, and then Half-Life: Alyx, in that order. Do not play Alyx first because every title after that will pale in comparison. The exception to the rule are the ultra-violence simulators like Gorn and Bland & Sorcery. Play those immediately, they are golden.
yeah, let's remove a main feature from the game suddenly, that's a great idea
