Big fan of this franchise after starting 40+ hours in this game. I like the combination of open world and turn-based encounters. The way that you interact with the world can change the outcome of your party and the story. Something I've rarely seen in other titles. A crowded nightclub can be a friendly HQ or turn into a shoot out zone in an instant, depending on how you play your cards. Getting the proper flow of party members and classes is a great dynamic for how you handle encounters, and rewards smart play styles and foresight. It's truly an 'indie' gem that I constantly find myself wanting to revisit to try different loadouts and play styles.
Wasteland 3 is largely considered horribly underrated game, if not one of the very good crpg out there. If you are a fan of Xcom or Fallout or any crpg, you should totally grab this game. It has all the good quality like Xcom, the story is solid and it has tons of American jokes. Let me also address some negative comments about this game: 1. GAME HAS TOO MANY BUGS As of year 2026, there is no bug at all and I am already at midpoint of the story. Perhaps there is an issue about unfairly positioned characters in a battle but that can be overcome easily once you understand the game mechanics. 2. POOR GRAPHICS It is true that the graphics looks bland but overall gameplay exceeds the quality of many AAA games. 3. THE ENEMY IS TOO OP It is true at the beginning you will fell underpowered and many enemy are stronger but if you learn the game mechanics (skills, attributes) and put a little effort into grinding in early stages, you will be fine before you hit mid game story plot. Overall, I don't see anything that could give a bad review for this game. If at all, I only wish that Wasteland 4 to come out soon!
Clever and funny dialogues and missions. The setting is unique. Fun gameplay.

great game
TOP!!!
A good continuation to the Wasteland series that was revitalized with Wasteland 2. There are multiple things done better with consolidating skill bloat, pets are far more useful than in 2, adding stealth and more uses for skills in combat was an improvement, expanding weapon and armor crafting/modding, improved graphics, adding an interesting choice of using tv jingles as "classic radio tunes", and a decent enough story that doesn't fall into the traps of continued world ending threats. However there are some things that were step backs or could've been better. Switching to You Go I Go combat while easier to learn kills most of the strategic depth of initiative based combat from 2, and makes combat too much about who goes first. Like all the others this game does have a weird difficulty spike in it, though this one is at least confined to the final chapter of the story. Stylistically the game also took a could steps backwards with the removal of the typewriter UI and character art portraits, for straight reliance on the 3D graphics and a few 3D conversation heads. The game also seems semi at odds with its crafting system, where for much of the game you'll lack the scrap to actually engage with it. Likewise, while improved in some areas the modding of weapons and armor took a major step back with the removal of the ability to remove attached mods, which limits your ability to play with the system for most of the game, and certain slots are just lacking options that work for certain weapons. There is also some minor hiccups where if you play the story certain ways you lose the ability to craft some items. Finally there is also an annoying memory leak with the Ranger HQ, that can make the game unstable if you do too many things like crafting while there. DLC wise Steeltown is a good addition with interesting new mechanics and gear and Holy Detonation is honestly better than most make it out to be with an attempt to salvage challenge back into the YGIO Round based combat.
XCOM in a postapo setting. An excellent sequel to Wasteland 2. Customisation, story, soundtrack, theres nothing I know of that would make the game better :) fully recommend.
