A very bold game, in the sense that it thought that 5-6 lines of dialogue at a time without a spoken or written human language is acceptable.
A beautiful and touching little interactive story told with many long cut scenes, that are separated by a variety of puzzle sequences and some brief exploration. 'Wanda a beautiful apocalypse', both recreates the events leading up to an apocalypse and tells the story of two survivors. The story sequences are not interactive, long and unskippable which may not be for everyone. The puzzles include Sokoban style puzzles, Portal style puzzles, co-op logic puzzles and timed typing sequences. There are collectables to be found during the short exploration sequences. I really enjoyed the story and most of the puzzles, but I really disliked the timed puzzles - I find them quite frustrating and not in line with the nature of the rest of the game.

I want to give the devs credit even though this is a negative response, execution comes with experience but it is also intention, and this could be exactly what you intended so good job. For people who like these kind of games I think they would really enjoy it. For me personally, even though it has a good (but sad) story line, and I like the graphics, there isn't enough interaction to keep my attention. There are some brain challenging puzzles, but I think I spent more time reading a book whilst the cut scenes played out :( When I finally finished I had a 7 hr play time... because quiet a few times I got up and wandered off, got carried away reading my book, or played another game hoping the cut scenes would play out (unfortunately they only do that when the window is active). If you want all the achievements you have to play until the very very end.
I can't bring myself to give this game a negative rating. Despite its flaws, it's just too beautiful. So clearly a labour of love. The art and music is stunning. The story evokes so many thoughts and feelings without ever saying a word. Not to mention, the puzzles are incredibly well thought out with a lot of unique twists for each puzzle - also, if you get stuck on a puzzle, you get the option to skip it. The problems: - As many have mentioned, the game takes a lot of control away from the player. And it's not just that - it takes the control away from the player for a long time at a time; the cutscenes are a little long-winded. There were many times where I had already gotten the point they were trying to make, but then the cutscene would still go on and on. - I don't know if this is a problem really, it's more of a frustration. Sometimes for some of the puzzles, each move has to be pinpoint-perfect, or else you have no choice but to reset the puzzle. BUT, if you reset it a few times, there's an option to skip the puzzle completely which is awesome. - Sometimes in cutscenes, the dialogue (which we can't read) just runs on a timer and proceeds on its own, and sometimes the player has to click to continue. I think this is inconsistent, and since we can't read what they say anyway, it's pointless to have a system where the player has to progress the dialogue. - There's a bug in the puzzle where
blue shrinks. If you reset the puzzle while still holding the orb you have to give to red, the movement speed doesn't reset to normal, it stays slowed as if blue is still carrying the orb
. Ultimately, I would recommend this game. It's cute, it's cheap, and it's short :)
Wanda tries to tell a heartfelt story. Unfortunately, the execution is awful. There are no settings, not even basic sound options or a way to quit the game, which runs on some low default resolution. Gameplay is constantly interrupted by pointless unskippable cutscenes. Every action is excruciatingly slow, yet despite this handicap, the authors decided to throw in some moving traps to aggravate the player even more. This story should have been told through exploration and interaction with the environment, not with cutscenes no one can understand anyway.
A short, simple and somber story. Robots have feelings too.
