Void War

Void War has the same problem FTL has where there's one consistent way to win against the final boss and if you didn't build for that over the course of your run you can get f*cked. Why even let the player experiment with different ways of tackling ships if ultimately all of them except the 'correct' build lose at the end?

Ftl but better, with 40k style world. Very fun if you like FTL you'll love this!

Very cool and fun homage to FTL wrapped up in a great grimdark package. Super fun variety of builds to explore which I appreciate.

It's a decent game and fun to play if you like FTL, but way too easy. I'm going to assume anyone here reading this has already played FTL. If you haven't, play that first. It pre-dates this and is a better game. That said, this does have some good additions over FTL and if development continues it could be better. The crew are way more diverse and open up much more tactical options through spells and equipment. Where it falls short is that the additions make the game too easy. I've yet to lose a run and I always take on the mid-game boss. (which is harder than the final boss). Also there's only 6 sectors compared to the 8 in FTL so it feels a bit short. Otherwise interface and playstyle are exactly the same as FTL. Oddly I've seen a lot of people say that boarding ships is a viable tactic in this compared to FTL. I disagree there. It's and overly viable tactic here and you can just spam the enemy ship with summoned units to win most battles. The main reason I disagree though is that winning battle by boarding in FTL gives you more resources for the win and is essential there too.
