Carefully guide your nation from the era of absolute monarchies in the early 19th century, through expansion, colonization and social upheaval, to emerge as one of the great world powers by the dawn of the 20th century in Victoria Complete.

Difficult to figure out but interesting
Game doesn't run well on high end pcs.
Ends too early. Cannot see how to extend the finish date

a bit compilicated but fun when you understand what to do
Great but if you play on the fastest setting you HAVE to reduce the more "useless" message notifications as it can crash the game. I was well on my way to making Utopian UK with zero military and zero foreign engagement but alas, not even Hegelian thought could have predicted the advent of thee Pentium III AND it being able to have the laxest bureaucracy ever. 10/10 would recommend, very easy to get into.
This game has far fewer economic components to it than Vic 3 which a plus in my opinion.
Trash. If you add political factors to a game, you will spoil it. Paradox not only do this, but also never listen to players. If you buy this game, you can do nothing, including refund, when Paradox add something you don't like to it. Paradox Interactive should close down.
I have played both Victoria 1 and 2, and of those two, I massively prefer Victoria 1. Yes some things are a little monotonous like selecting the specific territories you want to annex from a large nation, but overall, I think this game gives the time period a very solid representation of the time period. This game taught me what happened in our world almost 200 years ago, and I'd say this is where my love for history and geography began. The graphics may be dated, but I prefer this any day to the weird 3d and soulless graphics of Victoria 2. I have a lot of nostalgia for this game. Yes it has a steep learning curve, but once you've figured out how to build armies, manage your finances, and make strategic geopolitical decisions, then you'll be carving up an empire where the sun never sets in no time. You take any country on earth from the time period, and you decide how its future unfolds. Want to conquer the world before 1900 as China? Want to command the Ottomans to conquer all of Africa? Want to start as Prussia, unite the German states together, and then destroy the British Empire forever? All of that is absolutely possible in this game and the possibilities are as endless as your imagination. This game does not hold you back, it gives you the power, and lets you decide. Have rebels taken over your capital? Let them have it to force your government to change! Lots of chaotic fun is yours to have and the world is yours to burn down or not! Without modding the game yourself (which is super easy btw. You can make your own custom countries, events, and even national flags which I find is the hardest to do because you need photoshop for that) I'd give the game a 7/10. I think $10.00 is a very fair price in my opinion.
No tutorial for a game in one of the most complex & impenetrable genres ever created. UI is terrible; it looks bad, it functions poorly, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, keys are not rebindable, edge scrolling cannot be turned off.
