Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet

Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet is a cute and humorous game. The game is a relaxing and child friendly game that included some adult jokes that are reminiscent of the old Loony Toons cartoons. In short, I recommend Nelly Cootalot as a fun casual experience to have a fun and relaxing gaming experience. Tom Baker is a voice actor in the game as well! Nelly Cootalot is fun and funny without having to dive into crude and crass tactics.

这么老的游戏，我居然是steam上第一条简中评论 首先和上一部一样，这个游戏依旧没有中文，里面还有一些德文拼写，然而对于游戏没太大影响，理解该做什么怎么做还是容易的，注意几个容易疏忽的成就，一周目白金quite easy。这个游戏是《Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD》（鸟兽战队HD）的续作，和上一部相比画质有了明显的升级，剧情也丰富了不少，还有了集换式卡牌，剧情上也是接着上一部的——Nelly上一部抓住了海盗Widebeard与老婆，然而忘记拿回藏宝图，不死心的两人偷逃了出来，企图利用藏宝图寻找兄长bloodbeard留下的宝藏，于是我们的主角再次前去阻止他们。 游戏内容和上一部一样，传统解谜游戏的玩法：寻找道具、与NPC对话推进剧情、组合&使用道具，然后里面穿插几个小游戏。由于是续作，上一部的好多NPC也是再次登场：bloodbeard的会说话的小鸟Sebastain、酒馆小哥Friday、卖杂货的Bjorn兄弟……除此之外也多了新人物。同时继承了上一部的部分设定——Nelly可以直接与Sebastain对话（因为她上一部已经对话过了）。游戏左上角的气泡框里还多了作者与Nelly的配音女士的对话&吐槽，告诉了我们一些游戏场景与谜题的设计思路（星盘蜡烛那里我是没绷住），剧情里也有所补充，比如那只魔法猴子El Mono的身世（但个人感觉这里还能展开讲更多？） 至于解谜部分，抛开语言问题也不难，小游戏也比上一部简单，要说给我印象深刻的也就是那个[spoiler]通过一个故事猜一个奇怪的词的意思，这不高中英语阅读的猜词题嘛（通过翻译软件是不可行的，因为作者提及这是他造的词）[/spoiler]，拖时间的地方就是在各个场景切换。 和上一部一样，这一部让我感觉最大的毛病还是赶忙的结局——上一部花了大部分时间在找上岛的方法，最后跟widebeard交手时简简单单用钩子把他打倒了；这一部也类似，游戏流程最长的地方就是在镇子上找东西以获得离岛许可，一旦发动飞行艇就跟按了加速按钮一样：轻轻松松找到了宝藏，简简单单打倒了坏人。第一步结束的预告片里给了坏蛋的那么多动画，本以为要和坏蛋widebeard夫妇斗心眼子大战三百回合呢，结果就这？跟某些动漫&电影一样，前面营造氛围吹得反派多么牛逼，结果快结尾了被一招撂倒，啊？ 然后这个结局我也没绷住：最后主角她们使widebeard回忆起过去，意识到他和兄长bloodbeard的误会来源于自己的坏老婆（啊？），然后widebeard意识到错误洗心革面加入了主角海盗团，Nelly海盗团的大家合影撒花完结，被留下的坏老婆和港口管理员遇到snowbird大概也是凉了（估计也不会有下一部了）。跟某些电影一样，最后主角一句话让坏蛋意识到了错误突然改邪归正然后大团圆，这种结局我接受不了，太突兀了。 （游戏里Nelly唱的那首sugar biscuit的儿歌挺好听的，可惜OST里面没有，不然就入手了） 总结：作为一个解谜游戏来说还算可以，画质比上一部有了很大升级，游戏里有几首歌也很好听。原价买不值得，史低嘛，只能说可以考虑。

Solid comedy adventure game. Better than Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria. It probably invites other comparisons but I shan't make them.

It is relatively easy, amusing, and pleasantly silly, but the controls are just a little unresponsive - there seems to be a little delay after an action is completed and before the player is allowed to click on anything else. Sometimes the inventory does not disappear for a few seconds which also prevents any interaction, but that might just be a peculiarity of very particular hardware configurations. Animations cannot be skipped, but fast transitions between most "rooms" are available on double-clicking the exit arrow. Dialogue can be skipped line-by-line, and if it is puzzle-related, it can be heard again (some additional dialogue prompts sadly disappear by design upon first hearing). There is a companion who provides clear hints if prompted. It is safe to enable background developer commentary, as the puzzles are pretty obvious anyway; if not at first - then most certainly after hearing the hint. Multiple manual save slots are available, and judicious - or abundant - use of saves allows for convenient achievement-hunting. I would say it is reasonable to expect around five hours of play-time from this game. The final twist is a bit ridiculous, but it ties up the story of that particular villain and the bird-plot. This game is suitable for younger audiences. By the way, Alasdair Beckett-King has also written a children's mystery about a new character - Montgomery Bonbon - who may or may not feature in a potential point-and-click-or-otherwise project in indefinite future. No guarantees either way though!

A charming piratical adventure! ABK's trademark gentle humour is very much on display and Nelly is a lovely protagonist. I can see this being a great first adventure game (along with its prequel) to play with children, as the puzzles are logical, the characters fun and silly, and there is clear signposting throughout.

[h1]Ахой, любители птиц[/h1] Небольшой квест про пиратку и защитницу птиц Нелли Куталот, отправившуюся по совету призрака пирата Кровавоборода в путешествие за очередным сокровищем. Лёгкий и добрый словесный юмор с любовью к английскому словообразованию и морской тематике, несложный, но хорошо построенный набор головоломок и пара мини-игр, простенькая графика, приятное озвучивание, а также песни и шанти. Технически игра - сиквел, но сюжетная привязка в основном выражается во встречах со старыми знакомыми, так что вполне можно начинать и с этой части. В целом, хорошее приобретение по скидке или в бандле на вечер.

There are way to few comedy games and his made me giggle aloud several times. I'm sure I missed some content because I got so into the puzzles

I had bought this as a part of a bundle (and also because the trailer is hilarious) and kind of forgot about it. But one day, by kids and I were looking for an adventure game to play together after we finished Day of the Tentacle. My boys love pirates so they naturally fell in love with the picture of Nelly while browsing through my library. They were hooked (haha) immediately! While certainly not at the level of classics like Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island, this is a really neat adventure for the whole family that runs along at a decent clip. Nice graphics, great soundtrack, fairly easy puzzles, funny characters and some good humor thrown into the mix. I'm glad I played it and I'm pretty sure it's great fun even if play it on your own.

A must for everybody who loves birds, pirates and pirating birds. Nelly is as adventurous and witty as ever, the puzzles are just right and in addition to the free letters out of british spelling you get the wonderful british accent that makes every joke delivery even funnier.
