About
Step into Valor of Man, a turn-based roguelite RPG set in a world torn by ruin and revelation. Master the art of synergy as you discover and combine over 700 abilities, items, and game-changing artifacts. Forge your strategy and prepare for the trials ahead.
Build your party of four champions from 12 classic fantasy hero classes, each with distinct roles and playstyles. Unlock new class variants and loadout to customize your team before embarking on the adventure ahead.
Choose your path through procedurally generated chapters, where every step holds a risk or a reward. Will you rest, take a chance, or press into the unknown? Each run brings new encounters and discoveries. The full truth of this world is revealed only to those who return again and again.
Combat is built around a DnD-inspired turn-based system where every action is a contest of strategy, timing, and a touch of risk. With limited action points each turn, you must carefully deploy hero skills and items to create powerful synergies. Find the right moment to strike and unleash devastating blows on enemies while exploiting their reactive actions.
With each run, unlock new hero classes, uncover legendary artifacts, powerful new gear, passives, and abilities. Ascend through 10 increasingly brutal Valor difficulties. In this roguelite journey, death is not the end. It is a step toward mastery.
Valor of Man captures all the magical elements of a deep RPG campaign in pick-up-and-play sessions. All the high-stakes tactical decisions, morale party dilemmas, clutching critical blows, and heroic endeavours in the face of certain death, packed into a forever-replayable roguelite with sprawling horizontal progression.
Whether you seek challenge, lore, or the thrill of perfecting your strategy, Valor of Man offers a rich and evolving journey. Newly added to the game is the sandbox-esque Chaos Mode with customizable modifiers for the ultimate challenge and reward, and the new Mastery System recording each and every build option you have successfully beat a run with.
Prepare for your journey. The realm awaits.

Quality tactical roguelike, excellent graphics and good sound for this sort of game. If you ramp up the difficulty to max once you're used to the mechanics, it should take a long time to win. The reaction system makes it a quite different tactical experience to most turn based combat games. Downside might be limited ability to customise your party near the start, but this gets better as you unlock stuff. Surprised it doesnt have more reviews already - hidden gem!
8/10 Perfect for Tactical Turn-Based Fans I love the turn based Action Point system here. As someone who’s a big fan of Pathfinder 2.0’s 3 action economy, I’ve always been disappointed that Owlcat never leaned into that style again. Valor of Man really fills that void, at least from a tactical combat perspective. You’ve got a party of 4 characters, each with around 3 subclasses, and they all feel distinct with clear roles. The combat is where the game shines. It’s flexible, thoughtful, and rewards planning without feeling overly punishing. The story has a really cool hook too. Humanity is stuck in a never ending loop, and your character slowly starts remembering past cycles. Each time you beat the third boss, things reset but not quite the same. Dialogues start familiar but end differently, and characters can shift into entirely different versions of themselves. It’s a great idea. That said, the execution doesn’t fully land. The writing can feel a bit too brief, and it seems like translation issues get in the way at times. As the loops go on, the changes become harder to follow instead of more intriguing. It also doesn’t help that the game reuses the same handful of background art pieces, which makes everything blur together after a while. Still, if you’re here for tactical combat and that Pathfinder style action economy, this absolutely delivers. It’s not perfect, but it scratches a very specific itch that not many games even try to reach.
great 25 hour game to get through 1-10 difficulty alone. without doing chaos mode or failing to win all but once or twice. very solid experience. kept thinking there would be a fourth chapter to fight. would like more time while full build. i really liked the courage mechanic.
absolutely worth the money.
What a surprising game. I opened it for the first time and didn't stop playing till almost 5 hours. The idea of the game is fun and playing actually feels tactical. I'm not someone who enjoys tactical games much because of to much rng but i feel like this game hits the sweet spot. My only concern with it is that after I eventually unlock all the classes and do a run with each set for each class not sure i will play much more after that. If more classes keep coming out then this game will stay engaging.
I like the combat and inventory choices I can make. Its very challenging.
This game may, actually, will, inflict psychic damage on you Reviewed for startmenu.co.uk : https://www.startmenu.co.uk/home/review-valor-of-man
Its an interesting narrative roguelike. Mechanically, the pacing of unlocks and challenge create one of the smoothest friction/reward curve rides in recent memory. There is usually a thread in a run that is quite obvously the cheese strat, but the thematics and the way the game is built make you feel good about cheesing it. Narrative wise it not outstanding, but the tropes are well implemented. As a cohesive whole - It. Just. Works. Personally I feel it is due to the GM/player power dynamic. The GM being proud of the players for breaking their game rather than punishing them. This game either coincidentally or intentionally evokes the same vibe.
This game is awesome, literally the only reason I don't have hundreds of hours is because the game release schedule this year has been crazy and I just don't have the time. I really like the different classes for the characters, and having 4 units gives a lot of strategy to how you build your team and then develop it during the run.
I dunno. The gameplay itself is okay, but the graphics are just difficult to accept. The UI in particular looks like it's from 20 years ago; there's no reason why they should be like this in 2026. It's in a weird mid-ground between not simple/clean/abstract and detailed/animated, and it just feels like my brain is straining to tolerate it. Add that to a lot of words that are substituted for no real reason (i.e. "Weapon attack" is called "Thorn", and it's mentally taxing to interact with instead of being able to focus on the strategy.
