Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 21 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I got this game for PS3 back in the day and never made it past the tutorial. I thought the menu was clunky and there's no autosave. But coming back to it now, being a little more patient, this is an incredible strategy game experience with so much love and detail. I think I can actually appreciate everything Valkyria Chronicles is doing now I'm a bit older. The book menu system is still clunky- the lack of autosave is a pain- but past those aches is one of the most engaging original strategy games you'll ever play. And the watercolour anime style is beautiful to look at, a blessing since the game is packed with many hours of fully animated cut scenes! If you're a geek for World Wars and love a classic anime adventure, this game will make your week.
No autosave between battles is insane but it's amazing otherwise.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

think XCOM wrapped in an anime WW2 soap opera. absolutely fantastic
One of the best JRPG's I have played, this game coming to steam was one of the main reasons we have VC 4 and I will always be grateful to the developers for bringing it to pc
I sent a 15 years old to war and she came back with a double digit kill counts and a degree in engineering
Valkyria Chronicles has one of the best war stories I’ve ever experienced in a game. The characters feel alive. Everyone is fleshed out with distinct personalities, making it hard to imagine losing any of them in battle. That emotional weight adds to the tension, and the campaign itself is beautifully written and engaging from start to finish. Gameplay-wise, it’s a mix of tactical depth and just enough RNG to keep you on your toes. Once you discover your perfect team composition and buff combos, the game can become a bit of a cakewalk, but that doesn’t take away from the fun. In fact, it makes experimenting with different strategies all the more satisfying. If there’s one downside, it’s that only a handful of characters get meaningful story arcs. With such a colorful cast full of charm and personality, it feels like a missed opportunity not to explore them more deeply. Even so, Valkyria Chronicles holds a very special place in my heart. Later entries balance the gameplay better, but this first one remains unforgettable for its story, atmosphere, and the bond you form with its squad of soldiers.
Closes when you alt-tab, very infuriating.
What should be a fun X-com type game is sadly just a puzzle solver, with almost each battle having a '1 turn solution' to get an A rank. Yes, one single turn, rush into the base with a fast scout unit and win the battle, and the devs actually REWARD this stupid gamey play by giving you extra exp and income boosts for turn 1 clearances. So, with that said, ignore all those abilities, all the other classes, all those cool perks each character has, its all meaningless, you will literally never have to actually defend anything, if you give the enemy just one turn, your already losing, might as well reload the mission and try again.
战场双马尾,村姑冲冲冲
Incredibly frustrating to play. Also one singular save slot, so if you do the DLC and save midway through it, well tough luck for you, you just lost all your progress. Though saying that the gameplay is fun and I'll probably come back to it later in the future.
