Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 21 → 2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A fun tactical RPG with a solid story. In terms of gameplay it blends a turn-based system for actions and real-time system for movement which works quite well. The classes aren't perfectly balanced and some feel much stronger than others but they all get some moments to shine. The story is fast-paced and relatively short in terms of cutscenes/dialogue but still delivers an entertaining tale from start to finish. The art has a cool sketched out style throughout and the OST is decent even if it didn't particularly stand out to me among everything else.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

So. Many. Cutscenes... The incredibly long and boring exposition, for a world I was not invested in in the slightest, followed up by 2 long cutscenes, a small tutorial, and 3 more cutscenes, all with boring, unlikable, and incredibly dumb characters making way too many anime noises did not help. The game instantly crashed, when I went to my desktop to change my sound settings. The saves are completely manual, this means if you crash in the middle of playing, you lose all your progress if you don't constantly manually save after each cutscene/gameplay section (I lost my progress twice and had to complete the first tutorial twice and the second one three times because of this). Gameplay is alright, but has some little things I found annoying. My characters kept vaulting over cover, when I didn't want them to, and not vaulting, when I finally did want them to. Since vaulting is automatic, you just have to deal with it. Crouching is only available in dedicated areas. You can not improvise cover with a lot of things that seem like they could provide it, since you can't crouch behind them. After certain in-battle cutscene your characters get moved into very weird positions (the cutscene starts immediately after you kill the enemy without even letting you finish your turn...), that made me outright lose one time and the other few times were very inconvenient. Tutorials were popping up while I was being shot, eating my inputs, and making me get hit like 3 more times. Probably won't be an issue once you get out of the tutorial, but another very annoying thing to add to the many annoying things I got thrown at me when starting the game. I had a couple more issues I wont mention, as they were either unfair on the game or just my fault. They did however contribute to me, eventually, running out of patience with this game. I do realise I do not have a good view of the game, as I just played for one hour, but that one hour was frustrating enough for me to quit. If you can handle the cutscenes. This game might actually be a pretty decent game with some rough edges.
Kind of sad that Sega dropped the ball on this masterpiece, I played it on the PS3 first several years ago, and ever since then I go back every couple of years and play it all over again, such a great story, such great gaming style, Is pretty much WW2 with anime. I like the tactics aspect of it, I like the fact that all units of a specific team level up at the same time, I like the fact that they are not afraid of touching on discrimination aspects without sounding preachy or woke. I would totally recommend this game.
Great game, if a little unbalanced (in the player's favour) in the base game. Once you reach new game + and have access to the hard and expert skirmishes, you can really start to get some good depth out of the game play system as they are balanced around the game's most broken mechanic, that being order stacking. alternatively, if you are playing the game looking for a challenge, a no order or DLC content run would likely scratch that itch, as order's allow you to effectively bypass the actual tactics of the game. Overall, I rate this game an arbitrary 7.5/10.
Valkyria Chronicles is an okay game, with some really fun stages and memorable characters. If you're a fan of tactical games, it's definitely worth playing. The art style does a lot to carry the game, as it still feels timeless and enjoyable to this day. The game starts off a bit slow and boring in terms of missions, but the later stages become much more fun as they introduce elements that make you more aware of your surroundings and decisions. Unfortunately, at least for me, the story is mediocre at best, since some notorious anime tropes are present. While yes, IT IS an anime-style game, the over-exaggeration and ridiculousness of certain situations completely ruin some key moments in the story.
Control really sucked which is unfortunate
I love the painted look for the art and love the strategy combat. Makes it feel like a battle.
