Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 21 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game is great. It really sells the whole world war theme. In this game, you follow the story of Commander Claude Wallace. The Tank Commander/Squad Leader of the Atlantic Federation's army special forces, Ranger Squad E. In this game you not only take control of Wallace, but also his entire squad, managing the entire squad/small platoon. Tabletop gamers will notice each map plays a lot like a game of W40k: Kill Team/Combat Patrol. While the game could do with some quality of life improvements, it does what it's trying to do better than almost every other video game of it's kind. As for the style, I sometimes wish the game was a little more dark and gritty. (Which it still is). Valkyria Chronicles 4 touches more on the romantic side, which is very unique for a strategic war game. And allows for more of story. Anyways, this is a great game. Good luck on making it through the campaign, Commander!
Like Fire Emblem with guns and tanks worth it

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

An outstanding sequel! Despite the numbering, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the direct sequel to the original we all wishes for. This entry explores the bigger front of the war in yet again another masterclass of a plot, filled with memorables characters, plot twists, and greater dilemmas. It is hard to believe two anime game contain believable war stories, yet here we are proven otherwise. The gameplay was expanded with new classes and dynamic maps, clearly showcasing an evolution, but not a distortion, from the original experience. VC4 is, to put it simply, the perfect sequel; a title I enjoyed greatly!
The writing in this game is terrible. It literally starts on a diary entry that minimizes the impact of losing one's hometown and attempts to include foreshadowing, "no one expected the troubles we'd go through" which seems clearly out of scope for a diary that's written in the moment. The characters are flat cliches, and there is none of the charm of the original Valkria. However, the flaws in the writing of the original are magnified. Instead of glossing over the horror of war, it's reframed as an exciting adventure. Instead of the pragmatic impossibility of remaining ignorant of a childbirth happening within the tank you're crewing, you have the tactical improbability of an enemy either shelling or planting mines(?) in a field on the opposite side of the town they're attacking, and, of course, the amazing rallying cry "Don't let them break through to the front lines!". What's more, the campaign that the characters engage in echoes the WWII invasion of Stalingrad pretty directly, in my opinion breaking the fantasy world aesthetic and miring the story in real-life politics and setting. I shouldn't have to tell you which power invaded Stalingrad, but if you don't know, feel free to look it up. But how's the gameplay? As far as I can tell, not much different from the original Valkria, with the caveat that moving a tank seems to now take only a single command action. Tanks, a powerful, versatile combat unit which are nigh-invincible to infantry fire, need some drawback to make the game balanced. In the original, this drawback was that commanding a tank was as expensive as moving two infantry units, enough to make moving it a decision that was not to be taken lightly, but, due to the advantages, one that remained tactically relevant. Removing this drawback seems like a potentially awful decision, turning the tank from a valuable squad member into the squad. So, this seems like a big step down from the only other Valkria title I've dipped my toe into, the original. Seeing this series' utterly braindead use of war as a harmless, consequence-free driver of "plot" actually makes some of nihilistic abandon and grittiness of other titles I've seen tangential to this, such as Fuga: Melodies of Steel, make more sense, as a reaction to this sort of inapproriate glossing.
