About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

Reviews
Left in an unfinished state. The idea is good but is executed poorly, with bugs and an entirely awful campaign. If you want to build warships, play Naval Art, but beware it is very difficult to get into and do well. Alternatively, you could download an overhaul mod off of Nexus (I forgot it's name) which improves the game but doesn't perfect it by any means.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
BEFORE YOU BUY
--Good-- - Naval effects and Visuals Plenty of cool visuals, from the water to the explosions. - Creative freedom Ability to modify and adjust ship designs off of chasis (you don't build it section by section, you adjust the size of the chasis you want to build off of and add guns towers etc, like a putting a computer together almost, with different components etc. at the end of the day its still gonna look like a PC) - Campaign A little clanky but really cool if you want to command fleets of your own personal ships etc. Complex to learn though. - Plenty of Event missions Event missions being, you are given a bunch of limitations to build a ship or fleet to fight against a foe, as small single missions. - Time periods of Naval Combat you can practically play in any time period between 1890-1940 --BAD-- - Abandoned by Devs at what feels like the Halfway point - PAY for multiplayer - Clunky AI that sometimes makes the the most silly mistakes - Not as much free to place space as you'd think for ships - All around a really cool idea that was only carried through halfway and that's what it feels like - Poorly Optimized where I lag from time to time when I really shouldn't be - No Steam Workshop - DIFFICULTY SCALING during missions. When you try to design a ship under the missions, it feels like the AI is deliberately set to Difficulty Anal Rape. and its not even fun to have to change your designs because guess what.... The AI changes its design to counter yours each time.. but when you win it is rewarding. -Personal Thoughts- I waited for a 50% sale for this one. and that's all I personally would pay for this game. I can see where this game could have gone, how it could have shaped itself. and I know I only have 2 hours, but trust me... for 50% id say its worth it. HOWEVER Does not change the fact it could have been so much better. It fell short Just about as hard as an incomplete pass or a complete overshoot of the goal. Idea is fantastic, and you can tell the mechanics for what they were trying to do would have worked REALLY well... But now you have the community sad and left alone with a game from a dev group who just said, yeah this is good enough. NOT to mention asking money for MULTIPLAYER is absolutely terrible. # Final thoughts If you really gotta scratch your boat itch, sure get it (ONLY IF ITS ON SALE). But you'll feel much more empty and sad then before you bought it.
Juego abandonado.
I wish voting was on a scale rather than the y/n that Steam provides, because then I would give it a 3/5. I bought this game for the ship builder which I found to be lacking and restrictive, but kept playing it for the campaign. TLDR: If you want a shipbuilder, skip this one, but if you want a cool campaign then it's fine (though you should probably use a modded version of the game to fix the AI's poor balancing) It's worth mentioning that I have also only played the game with the "Dreadnoughts Improvement Project" mod as I was told to steer away from Vanilla due to it's ineffective AI, so all of my opinions are with that in mind. Let's start with the pros: - I've found the campaigns pretty fun, it feels like a naval version of Empire at War. It's worth mentioning that it's only worth playing at the hardest difficulty or else the AI will struggle to replace losses in battle. But the actual battles are really fun and so is managing all your fleets and ships on the map mode. I have heard that the AI is even worse in Vanilla but I haven't played with Vanilla - Battles on the Tactical level level are really fun, I like seeing my ships shoot things and when you actually concentrate a ton of battleships into a line formation against the enemy it is super satisfying - The game can be played over a 60 year span (1890-1950) and actually features playable nations like the Qing Dynasty (which is always ignored in most games like this) And now for the cons: - When it comes to the ship builder, I was disappointed. It's very restrictive and forces you to a few different hulls with specific snap points and doesn't like to let you go unconventional. The trailer is misleading. You can't really freely choose the exact shape of the hull and max displacement is tied with length when it should be a combination of length/width/beam. Nevertheless, there are a surprisingly large amount of different hulls with more than a few uniquely designed for specific nations and their building styles of the time. - The ship designer feels really clunky, sort of like some of the early Sprocket versions except Sprocket actually got way better and became what all of these in depth sandboxes should strive to be. If this game could follow a similar path it could become much better, but that seems unlikely due to drama with the production team. Currently, the designer almost feels like a chore to work with, I don't really have fun due to how it restricts my creativity and it still takes me an exhaustively long time to design vessels - There really needs to be a way to export my designs from the campaign to the shared designs, I want to be able to see my ships in use by AI nations during other campaigns but don't want to spend hours essentially reconstructing all of my ships a second time in the designer - This is a minor gripe but the map view cuts at the center of the Pacific. While this isn't game-breaking, ships can still teleport across the gap from the left side of the map to the right, but it's definitely very irritating and distracting. An infinitely scrollable map like in HOI4 would've been much better - A multiplayer mode is sold seperately as a DLC. I wasn't planning on playing with multiplayer but that alone feels scummy and held me off from purchasing the game for a long while because I didn't like where the morals of the studio were at. - The game has good bones and a lot of the major work has already been put in place. It has potential to be really good, but I doubt that the production team will put more effort into it, especially with them announcing a 'last update' already. We will likely have to rely on modders to make the game better.

Do you know how idiotic this game is? I'm playing as an Asian nation, at war with the Ottoman Empire. A destroyer comes over and hits one of my transport ships. The game declares me defeated, forcing me to cede territory and pay indemnity, and then even pay for the warships. I'm an Azur Lane player. What's the difference between this and giving your wife away to someone else? I'm so upset and completely disappointed with this game. I've uninstalled it and will never play it again.
I have to agree with other recent reviews. 175 hours and I'm finally just through being more frustrated than anything. This game had a lot of potential but was abandoned by its devs. AI is terrible, political actions are a joke, etc. Its too bad because this game could have been great.
