About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

POS. I'm just trying to get through the Naval Academy and although some are tough, I've been able to sift my way through UNTIL I HIT THE "BATTLESHIP VS TORPEDO BOATS. Garbage, Garbage yes Garbage. 10 PT boats against a Battleship. So after playing about 20 hours I've had 2 that got down to killing one PT boat. After chasing them for over 10 min each and hitting them dozens of times they go from about 50% to 20% then go back up to 50%. Never sunk. Even after multiple hits off a 9 in gun. One hit should have taken them out. Not to mention I get pummeled by 3 in shells from them and after about 20 min (sim time) I'm down to 40%. and 5 knots. Impossible now to kiil all 10. Also when they get rid of their torpedoes they scatter and run from the battle. At 35% and full 28 knots. I'm down to 5 knots. Never catch up. So I'm stuck on 8 tier in Naval Academy. No way to advance even to skip and come back. THIS GAME SUCKS. I've loved all the Ultimate General series. Now they say the 2024 update is the last.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Abandoned while not updating core features that they advertised, As well as still being in a very unoptimized state, on a 11th gen i7-11700kg 5070 and 64gb of ddr4 4400, any battle that has more then 10 ships turns into a slide show. Bought the game while before it was on steam, I don't regret it but i cant recommend it.
⚓ ULTIMATE ADMIRAL: DREADNOUGHTS "The Wet Dream of Naval Architects" Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is the only game that allows you to answer the question: "What would happen if I put ten 400mm guns on an 1890s hull?" It is a simulator spanning from the era of steam and wood to the steel colossi of WWII, where design is just as critical as marksmanship. 🏗️ THE SHIPYARD: YOUR TRUE BATTLEFIELD The heart of the game isn't on the high seas; it’s in the Ship Designer. Total Engineering: You must manage displacement, deck weight, armor belt thickness, engine types, and turret placement. The Weight Dilemma: If you add too much armor, the ship is slow; if you add too many guns, it becomes unstable and your shots will miss. Finding the "Sweet Spot" is an addictive technical puzzle. Technological Evolution: Watching your fleet progress from simple turrets to centralized fire-control systems is a real-time lesson in military history. 🌊 CAMPAIGN AND COMBAT Naval Geopolitics: In Campaign Mode, you manage a nation’s entire fleet. You must decide whether to build a few expensive, ultra-powerful "super-ships" or a swarm of cheap destroyers to suffocate the enemy. Realistic Ballistics: Combat utilizes an advanced physics engine. Shells have trajectory and penetration variables, and they can cause flooding or magazine explosions if the armor fails. 📊 QUICK COMPARISON: DREADNOUGHTS vs. WORLD OF WARSHIPS Feature Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts World of Warships Design Full custom scratch-building. Fixed historical ships. Control Real-Time Strategy (RTS). 3rd Person Action (Arcade). Realism Very High (ballistics, weight, engines). Medium (balanced for multiplayer). Focus Single Player / Global Campaign. Competitive Multiplayer. ⚖️ PROS & CONS THE GOOD: Creative Freedom: You can create absurd naval monsters or exact replicas of the Bismarck or the Yamato. Tactical Satisfaction: Seeing a design you spent 30 minutes on sink the entire enemy fleet is unmatched. Historical Depth: Highly educational for any fan of military nautical history. THE BAD: Steep Learning Curve: At first, your ships will likely sink themselves due to poor stability or weight distribution. UI/UX: It’s functional but feels a bit like a "spreadsheet simulator" in the campaign menus. AI Quirks: The enemy fleet can occasionally make bizarre tactical decisions. 🏆 FINAL VERDICT: "RULE THE WAVES" Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is a niche game, but in its niche, it is the undisputed King. If you enjoy reading about the Battle of Jutland and have a passion for engineering, this game will steal hundreds of hours from you as you chase the "perfect" battleship design. Admiral’s Tip: Never ignore Destroyers. An 80,000-ton battleship can be sent to the bottom by a single torpedo from a boat that costs a fraction of its price. Always escort your giants.
Abandonware! This game has been abandoned by a worthless publisher, more interested in skinner box mobile games. The dev team had something great here. It has exceptionally fun moments and it really scratches that lego/autism/dremel and glue itch to build and test out designs and strategies. However it is overall a buggy mess. Due to the publisher/owners lack of class, character and integrity it will likely languish in the dumpster.
Poor explaining of controls and how to actually play the game, the pre-set battles are completely boring and stupid, as no matter what i tried i consistantly got bodied by light cruisers and other smaller vessels because it spawns you about 400 meters from the target, and doesnt actually let you use your big guns. on top of that the gameplay is incredibly boring as all you do is set the direction and speed of your ships, and thats it. from what i found it had very limiting and odd shipbuilding mechanics and UI, none of it was clear or easy to understand. the graphics are rather poor as several times ships clipped into the water, or rubber banded. overall poor experience with it being to complex to understand and the gameplay being boring.
good game but unfinished...there are numerous modders who have mods for the game though i do feel theres only wo much you can do. The base game is meh at best...if you want to play it id recommend you used a modded version
No more update or support for the game, but, i knew that before buying so that's not the point. What is absolutely egregious are the basest of bugs still present that shouldn't even be present in a pre alpha release. I had completed some of the naval academy mission to learn a bit of the game and then i did something, what ? i don't know, i didn't reset my game data, it happened while in game, all of my progress resetted. Add to that the studio that made the game and the lack of update and trust me you'll be better off playing "war on the sea", true you won't design your own ships but at least the game isn't only half playable and the devs actually love what they made.
I quit playing after 1000 hours. Then I quit playing after 1400 hours. Then I quit playing after 1800 hours. Now I'm playing again.
fun
Its a really good game at its core and it is really fun to play, especially the campaign. The real only major problem I have encountered is when you update the game and launch it your saves are evaporated. which is infuriating because i had 2 saves on separate versions of the game that i had spent 40+ hours on. The first one was lost because i didn't know of this problem. the second one was because i had uninstalled the game for a bit and reinstalled it and there must have been a hotfix or something because my save was gone. overall good game and really fun campaign if you dont mind your save being deleted with any update.
