About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

Im doing my part! (Game is abandoned)
Game is extremely laggy for the campaign. Submarines completely ruin the game, by being stupidly effective and just a matter of probability on winning, depending on whether they are detected or not. The limitation on invading one territory at the time just slows down the campaign horribly. Game is buggy, extremely fun in its high moments, but let down by very obvious game meta and mechanics. Unfortunate because I want to love this game, but dang it is stupid frustrating too often.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've bought a bunch of games from these devs and they all fall down the same rabbit hole to some extent or another. Interesting ideas with poor execution. They also tend to ship a product and cease support nearly immediately every single time. If you don't see the full value immediately, don't purchase their games expecting them to update things and make a complete product. I purchased this game pre-steam release and it has largely not changed since that time. I gave it a year before this review to see if anything updated and I am still disappointed. The menus are cookie cutter game maker defaults. The UI is cluttered by popup boxes blocking sliders and controls I need. The menus are hard to navigate in missions and builder mode and to see my stats vs an opponents stats I constantly have to click back and forth. Camera controls are fundamentally broken. I am constantly bumped off of chase cam if I click wrong or bump a key. The tutorials are just various scenarios with no real guidance. So many features and options are left entirely unmentioned or unexplained in building and controlling ships I could go on and on. The gameplay itself is interesting but something is fundamentally broken with how it runs bot scenarios. For Example; while replaying the basic combat "tutorial" scenarios while testing ship designs I built a battleship to fight one single small cruiser. The idea of this tutorial being an easy test for you to try out different types of gun layout main vs secondary against a small weak easy target with barely any armor and much much smaller guns. The target cruiser was advertised as not being able to flee. In ten runs of this scenario it.... Fled 5 times Outgunned my vastly stronger ship in gunnery duels even when I maxed out the experience of my crew 3 times. Destroyed the forward turret of my battleship after 2 minutes of gunfire 1 time. Detonated the forward magazine of my battleship in the first volley 1 time. In all but one of these training missions my ships failed to score even a handful of hits aside from one close loss.
Disappointingly ahistorical. Most challenges seem to require fundamentally broken ships to complete.
A dogs dinner of a game poorly optimised. Seems abandoned by the Devs. Avoid don't waist your money like I did.
Rewriting this review after 50 hours of playtime in a week. Obvious out the way: this game was abandoned by the devs, and it genuinely pains me because I think it had potential to be much better than it is already. Out of the box, this is an awesome game for anyone who’s fond of the dreadnought era of naval warfare. The ship builder and editor allows for a somewhat advanced level of freedom when it comes to creating ships. I’ve probably sinked 10-15 hours just creating designs just because. There’s some limitations, of course, which I’m not particularly fond of, but we ball. One thing I hate is how laggy it gets. Definetly don’t get this game if you got a potato PC. If the task force you’ll be fighting against bring a smudge too many boat (like 10 and more) and you do too, prepare for lagfest central and enjoy commanding at 10-20 fps. Same for the shipbuilder, I find that even there, lag is an issue, although i’m not sure what exactly causes it. Get this if you love the idea of it or love naval warfare. The enjoyment you get from watching your dreadnought pummeling a poor little pre-dreadnought battleship until flash fire take the turrets sky high is well worth the flaws. Otherwise, if you’re unsure or don’t love dreadnoughts, just pass.
Fantastic naval strategy game! Hundreds of hours played and each time yields a new challenge or interesting battle. Highly recommend this game if you love building.
great game. since it's not being updated anymore, it is kinda held up by mods. core gameplay loop is fun, but some nations in the campaign mode are much more difficult than others to start (germany is much harder to campaign than france, for example) if you do decide to try the campaign mode, some tips: -make fast ships, as speed also affects how many turns your ships take to go places -fight wars one at a time. you can tell the gov. not to threaten war of you dont want to -at the start of the campaign (turn 0 if you will), all ships you build are completed immediately. this changes starting turn 1, so build lots of ships first, as they will be fully stocked and crewed too -start early, i recommend 1910 for any nation. your shipbuilding capacity will limit you on what hulls you can use and how big your ships can be, even if they aren't capped (CA weight limit at 16500 tonnes, for example). you can build this up in the finances tab. -start on easy. TRUST ME, IT'S WORTH IT! -make at least one alliance that's not in your home region (europe, america, asia), you can use their ports to resupply and repair, and they can use yours too. -try and take at least one canal quickly (suez, kiel, panama, etc.). it gives you lots of much appreciated control late game the campaign only last until DEC 1965, so have fun, and try to gain as much safe glory as you can. oh, and when you complete a campaign, it deletes the save file for it. custom battles is the main reason you buy this game, as you have access to everything, and can use parts from other nations if you turn on unlock: all
It's an awesome game love being able to build a ship how I want and test it out against anything and everything.
