About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

Could've been one of the greats....
Permanently unfinished game. Don't buy it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Oh no, our flagship took 2 shots! We will now switch mid engagement to a different ship to lead the formation and ♥♥♥♥ EVERY THING UP!
It has a good concept, but it's not worth the price. They stopped development and it feels unfinished.
Abandoned game, "feature complete" but totally buggy mess, devs continually added untested features to the ludicrously messy and bloated Grand Campaign until they crossed off their list and then just left the game a mess. Extremely promising but it will likely never be fixed. Save your money.
Abandoned, and pretty resolutely unfinished. That said, it is quite fun to interact with the ship builder. If a bit buggy. But the campaign is lacking: 1.) It isn't finished - There are some neat features, like selling ships, and allying with major and minor powers, but frankly these are surface level at best. There's no real capacity for diplomacy for these smaller states beyond selling and buying ships. And when you invade neutral states, it isn't your prerogative; aye indeed that's a problem in the campaign in general. 2.) A lot just isn't in your hands - This wouldn't be that bad if the AI had more intelligence than a dead rat but unfortunately a dead rat would probably win. The AI decides where armies go, civilian government is fully outside your control. And there is a counter to all of these points, namely the fact you're an admiral, which I do get but I do disagree. For starters, several states (e.g. Japan, the US, and Britain) require the navy (well realistically anyhow) to transport armies - an admiral there certainly has power (or at least influence on) these movements. On the second point, I simply submit Admiral Kolchak. And beyond those precedents: I don't care, it plays worse. 2a.) Economy is so strangely implemented, the GDP rises hilariously fast I'm honestly not really sure why, but you do have a pretty good control on it. But the growth of the AI is boosted and it is quite hilariously so. Also the stat effects from government type are also strange. The politics of states in this are just strange in general. 2b.) The task force system - It's an opaque system of how the game decides which ships go to combat. A lot of it is rather random, and while you can influence who goes into combat, you don't *decide* it. You basically just place a vague task force in a place and hope they spawn a battle the way you like. There are other ways to manipulate it, like the distance a ship can travel isn't actually that; it's how likely that ship is to spawn in combat. Notably *this isn't communicated to the player.* This is player knowledge someone explains (credit to BrotherMunro for my part) or you happen upon. You can't decide you're starting formation or anything like that, when to or not to attack. Even the part you're meant to control isn't yours to do so with. It's not a sound system. The naval academy has numerous spelling errors, and was made for previous versions of the game and never updated. The multiplayer is a dead cash-grab. Again, the best part is the 3D visualized vessels you can build, there are a lot of hulls to work from, and it can look nice, but that (though the biggest draw of the game) is not the only feature, and again it does have problems: 1.) Early hulls are very rudimentary - The earlier you go with hulls the less customizable they are. The early 1890s vessels basically all look the same with little difference visually. I understand similarity, but more variety (or something completely alternate) would be nice. 2.) Some ships cannot be built/customized - Aircraft carriers are simply absent from the game. Full stop. As are aircraft. I do understand the point that it is a dreadnought focused game, but they were essential to the later years which the game takes place, namely the 40s start date which can extend into the 50s. Submarines do exist, but only in text. They damage ships, and there are different types of them, but they are fully limited to text. 3.) Combat is meh - It can be good, but is also very limited. Formations don't really exist, more just telling ships to get in a line for you direct how they move as a line. Again can be cool, the armor penetration simulation and the simulation of shell weight or propellant is nice, but it goes back to being unfinished. Torpedoes function strangely, or at least their firing does. Your best bet is to essentially tell them to not fire unless you know a good solution, but even then it is their prerogative to actually shoot them. You cannot manually force-fire any weapon, so you basically have to strongarm the crew into doing basic actions at least in terms of torpedoes. Its abandoned and unfinished. While the 3D ship builder is cool, and there is no other game like it really, and that should be your main decider of whether or not you pick up the game, it is impossible for me to suggest a game that claims to be much more than that but fails to deliver in those aspects, as well as not completely delivering in its main selling point. If you must have a game with the 3D customization of ships, and the capability to make them fight, pick it up on sale. The game is not worth $35 USD. And for the goodness of the human race, do not buy the multiplayer DLC. Even if it were a reasonable $15 spend at some point, it's dead. Nobody plays it.
