Tropico 4

Tropico 4 has been a game I've come back to for years and years, usually just for one map at thats it but I love it every time. Great music, nice visuals despite its age, fun portrait designs and a good sense of humor. There really isn't a game that has the same vibe as Tropico 4 and out of all the iterations I recommend this one the most. Give it a spin if you're looking for a new City sim/builder to play.

Something about these 2010s city management games hooks me harder than heroin. I played Tropico 4 for 9 hours in my first session, and beat the game on freeplay mode. I will probably do it several more times before I move onto Tropico 5 to do the same thing. Viva El Presidente!

Great Game, was so much fun on the ridiculousness of this city builder, one of my first positive experiences with a city builder, would recommend giving this game a shot. Probably the best in its series to be honest (I have only played this and Tropico 5).

This game is enjoyable for someone like me who thinks they can govern an island community better than anyone else! Fun graphics and intuitive interface for a great gaming experience!

In Tropico there are elections that are held every few in-game years. You have to appease the various factions of citizens to win the election. Of course, you can enact certain edicts to govern how you want to, and then just rig the election for a fee but there will be civil unrest. Of course, you can use the military to quell this as well. I played as Fidel Castro (communist) but somehow got all of the factions including religious and capitalists to like me and happiness high despite the Liberty stat being at 10%. IRL, he suppressed religion and eliminated all private enterprises! I think its because uneducated people early in game are literally too stupid to have free will or need for extensive human rights LOL. Early game is literally "I'm going to pay you 5 pesos a month to work in a corn field or you will starve to death" And that's the basis that the entire society is built on.
