The game brings a fresh new take on the city building/management genre by introducing many RPG features. In Towns you manage a settlement on top of an active dungeon. Instead of playing the hero who delves deep into the dungeon, how about playing the town that houses and caters to the hero's needs?

In mid 2010s I bought this game. I sunk many hours into this game through some difficult times in my life so theres a special place in my heart. I would revisit every few years. the game has recently given the source code out. which will revitalize the game. I strongly encourage playing this game if you enjoy town builders.
I got this game several days after release in November 2012. Bought it because back then watching Sips was actually still enjoyable, because he wasn't sucking woke cockadoodle. I also really like Gymnopedies, so no problem there. Unfortunately, the developers soon decided to run with the million they got out of the sales of an unfinished game, tried to blame the consumer for their alleged mental health problems and still left the unfinished game up in the store for another whopping 14+ years, in case some nostalgia sick poor soul or some incorrigible hopeless dreamer came along buying unfinished slop for 15 Eurones. Now after all those years, they decided to let other people finish their work without payment and released source code. They are not going to update the game in any way or form though, so players who might want to get their finished game after some 20 years or so can probably look all over the internet to scramble for different mods or something. And they are STILL selling the original unfinished mess for 5 Euros. The absolute insolence is off the charts. Steam should put more ressources into punishing scammers on their platform instead of banning people in discussion forums for "hurty words".
The code has been made open source for all to continue the legacy of this great game! Come join in the glory of Towns!
Nice little game, pity it was discontinued.
Really? You ghosted your customers since 2014, and come and act like you are doing a service to us by finally releasing the source code, and demanding that people pay 5 euro on abandonware. The audacity.
This was a good game it just needed some love to make it work when late game things got more complex
