The game brings a fresh new take on the city building/management genre by introducing many RPG features. In Towns you manage a settlement on top of an active dungeon. Instead of playing the hero who delves deep into the dungeon, how about playing the town that houses and caters to the hero's needs?

Un jeu tout bonnement p-h-é-n-o-m-é-n-a-l
It's rotten that Valve permits abandonware to continue to be sold YEARS after development ceased. (But I understand, line goes up right?) If anything it should just become freeware after a certain amount of time.

It is indeed abandonware... however, what is here is a very nice game. There may not be any reason to grab it now that Dwarf Fortress exists in the form it does today, however when this game was first being developed, no such version of DF existed. I looked at this in my steam library and had a fond memory. I might just download it again.
As someone else said, this is the best worst game of all the mostly negative games. There's a few games out there that bring in the idea of watching a group of people survive, but rarely do they implement the systems that this game has. verticle building equipment system hero system dungeon system relationship system between heroes It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. It's a nice ant farm to watch or something to push for progression through depths. the assets look great. music doesn't get annoying. sound effect are fine. Does it feel like there's things which could be implemented further? certainly. most things outside the production systems are just set dressing. But it still hits well enough.
Thought I'd give it a go as it looked cool, thought the negative reviews were overblown, but the game isn't that good either. Controls are a little janky, certain things that make quality of life like continuous building after letting go of the mouse click instead of continuously clicking the option each time you missclick. One song that repeats on loop that gets annoying really quick. A tutorial that doesn't make sense & is also hard for me to understand what I do wrong. I can see it being a good game & some people enjoying it, but not for me. 3 / 10 edit: I understand it is an abandoned game, that isn't a reason to give it negative reviews nor a reason to call for it to be free like it's "abandonware". Get a grip
Haha, I forgot about this scam-game. Ye be warned, customer.
Shame its not working anymore. Might be worth getting an old computer to play if i remember rightly. I played years ago and my last thought was positive so that's what ill say
