Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best AU #63, worst JP #84 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Aug 26 → 7/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The vehicles only respond to one input at a time. There is no way to simultaneously hit the gas and pull the handbrake. Same goes for the clutch and the foot brake. If you want to keep the accelerator held down while slightly braking when cornering, you are out of luck. If you to red-line your RPM while feathering the clutch, sorry, not happening. Kind of a crazy oversight by the developers, especially considering that drifting gets you extra points in this game. It's kinda hard to initiate a big drift when you can't use either brake or the clutch without losing all your RPM. Other than that it's a great game. Works on Linux just fine.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer is fun at the start, especially if you like JDM cars and highway racing. The style and atmosphere are cool, but after some hours the game gets boring really fast. The map is too small and there are not many cars to use. I know the game only focuses on Japanese cars, but the content still feels very limited. The music is also not great. Only a few songs are good and the rest are forgettable. The biggest problem is the price. This game is not worth full price, and honestly even half price still feels too expensive for what you get. After playing Forza Horizon 6 with its huge Japan map and 600+ cars, Tokyo Xtreme Racer feels much worse and more repetitive. FH6 just has way more things to do, more cars, better map, and overall more fun. Tokyo Xtreme Racer had potential, but right now it feels like a game you play for a short time and then never touch again.
hey guys it's index here. to remind you about TCS not being fixed / togglable still
So far Tokyo Xtreme Racer has been a mix of "Oh damn this is sick", and "Why would you design it this way....". BP is bit too hard to farm. In fact the whole game is one big racing farm, Which is cool because it's fun, but the game hands out very little BP and the tree asks for a lot, and you need a lot of cash for cars, but the hand-outs are meak. But in general this is just a bloody sick racer, screaming through the highways of Tokyo in licenced vehicles that you've spent hours making looking mint. Add more customisation and race types, this will be close to the golden days of NFS Underground. EDIT: Additionally, the sounds are not geat. particularly the BG music and winning music, they leave a lot to be desired. Honestly, I play my own tracks while racing. EDIT 2: I take back anything negative I said, they simulated VTEC for the Hondas and I laughed like a schoolgirl. 10 stars.
DISCLAIMER: I only played Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2 back in the day (never got into Most Wanted and later entries). I know next to nothing about japanese street racing culture (only watched a couple of videos about Touge racing by Jimmy Broadbent). My interest in cars is only present in gaming (and even then mostly about the looks). Did I enjoy Tokyo Xtreme Racer? Yes. Did I expect more of it? Yes. Are there areas of improvement? Yes, definitely. Is the game worth its price tag? Probably, if you are really into what you are getting here. I had this game for quite some time on my wishlist, because it looked like it could scratch the same itch NfsU scratched back then, but the price tag kept me from buying. When it had been on sale for the first time since it was on my list I bought it immediately, because a sale seems to be a rare accurence. In this game you are racing on an expressway/highway. You are driving around it open world-style and challenge other racers by flashing your headlights. If one driver is more than 25 meters ahead, the other driver receives "damage". After taking enough damage that driver loses and the other driver gets CPs (credit points?) and BPs (battle points?). With CPs you buy cars and upgrades, with BPs you unlock said cars and upgrades plus perks like reducing the distance you need to be ahead or increasing the damage you deal. This more or less is the gameplay loop throughout the game. There are teams of drivers: defeat all members and you will be challenged by the leader. There are also so called wanderes on the course that do not belong to a team and that are usually of a higher level than other opponents at the time. Wanderers may also have some requirements that have to be fulfilled before you can challenge them (like driving the same car of having a specific license plate). The wanderers don't tell you their requirements, you may catch these while talking to people in parking areas. There you can change your tires, refill your nitro, talk to other racers/bystanders and also challenge some drivers that do not roam the expressway. The other drivers/teams are normally one-dimensional: shy, pompous, arogant, awkward or fully embracing one theme (like american football or swimming). This is not a bad thing and may add to the charme of the game (I suspect this is kind of "normal" in japanese entertainment culture and/or storytelling; I'm no expert on that though). You can skip the conversations and still enjoy the game, but to meet all the requirements for wanderers you have to be on the lookout for hints. I don't think anyone should expect a meaningful story in a street racing game. I was disappointed that there was next to no variety: like I wrote before you drive up to someone, challenge them and repeat. Later in the game you may be challenged by up to three other drivers at once and/or have to race one driver after the other (without refilling your nitro or changing your tires, sometimes even without "repairing" the damage you took during the race). There are no dedicated drag races (where you have to shift manually like in NfSU) nor drifting competitions (there is a little used drifting mechanic). Speaking of variety: you can buy the game's soundtrack consisting of 64 tracks, but ingame you only hear about five of them for whatever reason. Maybe it is a licensing issue? As far as I can tell the cars look and sound like they should. You have japanese cars from today up to the 80s and even some from before that. You will drive around alot in between races because in order to challenge somebody you have to be behind them. Sometimes that means to drive a couple kilometers to catch up to them or take the long route to have the capability to change the driving direction. There seems to be no quick way to change directions. There is a perk that enables you instantly travel to another parking area, but even then the parking areas are few and not all of them allow you to enter the expressway in both directions. Your option then is to retire for the night and pick a different ramp to enter. You may also decide to drive in the wrong way to get around (there is no damage outside of races). All in all I had fun during the 20+ hours to beat the game (I did not bother to challenge all the wanderers). For me, the full price would not have been worth it. If you are into this kind of racing game you may think differently.
