Tokyo Valkyries is a roguelite deckbuilder where players craft a deck and strategize to defeat the enemies that stand in their way and progress through the map.
—One day, an alternate world invading our reality, an Underworld, appears in Tokyo.
Only a set of chosen girls can stand against this anomaly.
By day, they lead their daily lives as regular university students; by night, they venture into the Underworld as warriors, fighting to protect the city of Tokyo.
Can this band of girls leading double lives stop the encroaching threat...?
Construct your deck and wield it to defend Tokyo from the Underworld invasion!
Grand Earth, a world of swords and magic, was trampled at the hands of Belzebia, a dark spirit wielding unfathomable power.
In time, the shadow of her conquest began to creep towards even our reality, where magic does not exist...
Unaware of such a threat, Haruka Fuchi, a university student in Tokyo, is led by a voice crying for help and steps into a strange space.
Where she ended up was an Underworld, a space in between Grand Earth and our world, created by Belzebia.
In this Underworld, replete with the presence of darkness, Haruka meets a girl who introduces herself as Artesia.
If the Underworld is not sealed and Belzebia stopped, the world will be led into annihilation...
Now aware of the threat facing her world, Haruka would venture into the abyss of darkness with her allies.
Combat gameplay is comprised of turn-based card battles, where you fight with a deck you craft yourself! Each playable character has one of four Attributes—Resolve, Courage, Hope, and Dawn—and will take action when a card corresponding to their Attribute is played.
During your turn, enemy characters' intended actions will be displayed to you. Based on this, the decision of whether to attack or harden your defenses becomes critical.
Understanding your opponent's actions to counter with your offensive and defensive capabilities is the key to victory.
While engaged in a run, Players will encounter seven types of tiles on the map: Battles (fight regular enemies), Elites (challenge powerful enemies), Shops (purchase cards and items), Cafes (restore stamina or boost cards), Lockers (obtain random cards or items), Anomalies (encounter various events), and Bosses (defenders of the Cursed Swords).
The decision to take or skip the cards you see through battles and events is key.
Craft your own unique deck and venture into the depths to defeat bosses!
In order to seal an Underworld its Cursed Sword, the source of its power, must be pulled out to purify the world. Follow Artesia's instructions to pull on the Cursed Swords and stop the Underworld's invasion.
These rituals are only for purification purposes, so don't get any wrong ideas and make sure your imagination (among other things) doesn't get inflated!
When you pull out a Cursed Sword, its power can greatly strengthen one of your girls. The selected party member will gain one additional attribute and can be chosen as your party's leader!
Girls chosen as leaders gain access to a super powerful special skill.
The combination of your party composition and deck building is the key to victory!

I really liked it! Cute girls and scenarios. Difficulty is just right. It's tough at first but after some experimentation and unlocking things, you can usually become pretty powerful. Length is just right for me too. For a game like this I think the balance is just right, including the price and the gentlemen content.
Disclaimer: I only played the game on my deck and it runs super smoothly. First, I love the art, it's beautiful, the character are charming and colourful. It's a shame that there's no breast size variety but the devs explained they're afraid to get hunted by the woke gestapo so it's understandable. (They made the statement about Bunndy Garden 2 but since it's the same dev team, I assume the reasons are the same). The cursed sword purification rituals are hilarious ¬‿¬ Second, the story is simple, nothing mind blodwing but I really like the comedy and the lighthearted tone, it doesn't take itself too seriously but it's not fooling around when it matters. Plus the characters makes it interesting. Third, the music is fine, it's forgetable but at least there are no tracks I straight up dislike. It's some kind pop/jrpg music one would expect. The sound effects are pretty cool. The voice actually is really good, like despite the small size of the production, the seiyuu did a fantastic job. It's sad that there's a severe lack of battle grunts and some battle lines are cut off if the skill ends the fight (such as Haruka's) but it's a small gripe. Now, the gameplay, it's actually really fun, and that's coming from someone who doesn't really jive with the deck builder genre. It may not be the first game to do it but it's the first time I've come across this "attribute" system. Basically each party members have an attribute (can unlock 1 more) and playing a card with a specific attribute will trigger the card as many times as the attribute exists within the team, for the same cost. Say I have a cost 2 red card, and character A that has 2x red attribute, and character B has 1x red attribute, playing the card will still only cost 2 but trigger 3x in total. It's really fun, allows for some team building and deck specialization shenanigans. Plus, each team member have a leader skill that can only be activated if they're the leader and there can be only 1 leader in the team of 3. If the leader is down, the skill becomes unavailable. The game is fairly lenient but tight at the same time. I hardly ever lost (except very early in the game) but when I win, it's frankly speaking, quite tight. Maybe I'm not really good at deck builders which is a fairt assumption but still, it's simple but has enough depth to be entertaining. I love and hate the gameplay at the same time but let me explain: I'm kinda cursed when it comes to games with RNG so I get terrible results pretty consistently. For example, there's an event tile that has an option that has 50% to give great rewards and 50% to be a dud. I picked that option about 30 times and I got the rewards about 4 times only. There's another riskier option that I only occasionally pick around 12 times and there's a 80% to get ambushed and I've akways been ambushed but I assume the rewards are the same. And since it's an ambush of elite mobs, they go first and can usually kill a character or gimp the fight for me unless I happen to have the right item or at least near full HP. There was this one time, my character strill had 40% HP left, got one shot right off the bat so the fight was already lost. Or that one run I got an early relic (permanent buff) that makes a certain type of card to come pre-boosted. I literally found it during the 1st half of the 1st area (stages are divided into 3 areas, 2 mid bosses and 1 final boss) but despite the fact there are only 3 type of cards and that I got the relic early, I didn't find a single card of the type until I beat the boss, I've come across 4 shop inventories and fought as much as I could to drop cards, not a single type of that card that would have been boosted. Well exactly 1 dropped but I had to give up on it because it didn't synergize with my build so it would have bloated the deck on top of costing resource to use it. But hey, I tend to my wipe my party in table top games game with consecutive 1 so nobody will be surprised. It's still painful tho. I still recommend the game, it's a steal for 20 bucks (or so)
