so far so good, i played around 2.5 hours while writing this, i like the art and how its inspired by Edmund work, the game feels somooth and i like how it starts easy and slow but rapidly get harder, i like me a challange. i hated the bombs at first they seemed useless but they become really helpful in the later areas,
This game is sort of a mashup of Risk of Rain and Binding of Isaac. It plays pretty well but the grappling hook / iFrame mechanics could use some tightening up so that the player can better react to bosses and such. I highly recommend doing the tutorial to better understand the current mechanics since they will save your life many times over.

Actually, he is very happy with his own company. Unfortunately for him he has always been bullied. Bullying is something that we see at every level of life these days, perhaps for your different views or because you don’t follow the masses. So, you’ll be labelled, bullied and attacked regularly. Some, like Tiny, will even go so far as to make a deal with the devil in return for love and acceptance! Let’s find out which deal he struck with the Devil in TinyShot! Tinyshot is a fast-paced side-scroller action shooter game developed by Allaith Hammed "ZAX" and published by Headup games on the 20th of February 2021 on Steam. In this game, you can play in Run or in the Survival mode. There is a short and very good tutorial which I strongly suggest going through before you play either of the modes. I had a good go on both of the modes and I must say, I enjoyed my time playing TinyShot. In the Survival mode, you’ll be able to play in three different platformer-type layouts. Your goal is to survive as long as you can and if you manage to reach the magic number of 200 points, you’ll unlock the next level. The Runs work a little bit differently. When you start your first run, you’ll have to beat the first of five stages; the other four are locked. If you do win, you’ll unblock the next level, but you’ll have to start a new run. That run will have two levels (1 & 2 that were just unlocked) and so on and so forth until you unlock all five levels. Each time you beat a level, you’ll also receive a new tiny skin. There are five skins to unlock in total, plus the original one. All skins have three different skills - Speed, Dash and Jump - and the optimal number is 5 for each of these three skills. Essentially, each stage will have three waves of enemy to clear. Tiny will start his run with a knife, a gun (15 bullets), five bombs, a grapple gun and his skills. The grapple gun will help Tiny to reach new highs within the levels as he’ll need more ammunition, which is usually located somewhere upwards in the levels. Every kill will be rewarded with a soul which you can use at the end of each level to purchase new guns at the store or buy perks at a special statue while you are playing each stage (three levels). Bear in mind, you’ll need a minimum of 25 souls to purchase your first perk, then the next one will be 50 then 75 souls. All perks purchased at the statue are beneficial for Tiny. But not all perks out of the 47 available in the game will help your tiny friend; those found elsewhere can have detrimental affects. When you complete a wave, 2 boxes will drop and each of them will have a random perk, but you won’t know which perk they hold until you open them. So, you might receive the green envelope at the statue which will add double the value on everything you currently have (life, bullets and bombs) but one of the boxes at the end of the level might have a perk that takes all your existing lives except one, which means that you are now worse off. Luckily, you can keep adding perks during your gameplay through the statues and by opening the boxes at the end of the level. The negative perks can ruin your runs very quickly. The positive perks make things too easy, even on the hard mode of difficulty, to complete each of the stages. To give you an example, on my last run, I had 20+ lives with 150 bullets and 30 odd bombs. I passed through that gameplay very easily and had plenty of lives to spare in the boss’s fight. I was lucky on that specific run because the perks were more beneficial than penalising. As Tiny unlocks new stages, new weapons will be available to purchase at the store at the end of each completed level. I really enjoy games that give you great replay-ability, which Tinyshot does very well. However, if you have a run like the one I had, it is far too easy and therefore decreases that replay-ability dramatically, which is a shame. It needs balancing in that regards. I like the artwork and the different weird enemies that you encounter; some will need more bullets to kill than others. What I find strange is that Tiny seems to inflict the most damage on nearly all of his enemies using any of his blades, with the exception of the enemies who themselves are armed with a sword; you get too close to them and Tiny will die in a flash. The other issue I encountered while playing the Survival mode is that Tiny can get stuck between platforms, which is really frustrating. In terms of the controls, I preferred to play TinyShot with the mouse and keyboard as I felt uneasy while playing with the gamepad. It comes down to a personal preference but in this game, for me, the mouse and keyboard offered a better experience. Positives: ~~~~~~~ + Great Artwork + Good tutorial + Three levels of difficulty + Run (campaign) and Survival modes + 47 perks, 6 skins and 22 different weapons + Good replay-ability + Full control support + Achievements Negatives: ~~~~~~~~ - No trading cards - Need balancing when acquiring perks, as it can become too easy The devil has lost a horn while fighting a demon! If Tiny can recover it, love and fame will come his way! 6/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are entirely my own! Gave it a few goes, here's my take on it. It's a pretty hard game, on part with things like Ninja Gaiden from the original NES. The power-ups aren't all good, which gives you a choice. It is definitely a controller game though, so you should grab one. The movement and attacks are all fluid. Overall it is a pretty cool game. Art style is nice to look at. Definitely has a fast pace to it. $9.99 on Steam, I feel like it is an appropriate price for what you're going to get. Recommended, especially if you like an acrobating shooting platformer. The VOD of my first crack at it is up on Youtube. Go check it out and decide for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25M9Jr9vaO0
It's interesting, but i think the game it's a bit difficult for a normal mode. I recommend play in easy mode first and get those skins (because the skins have better stats than the original skin)
A simple rogue like shooter with some amazing boss fights. :) would recommend to try it out.
I might suck at it and these kinda games, but I certainly can feel and know a game that oozes quality and creativity from the heart. This is an indie gem made by a 19 year old kid from crisis stricken Syria. I only wish more developers poured this kind of heart, soul, and creativity into their games here on Steam! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-SXquWH_OU This is a real indie diamond people! If you love "The Binding of Isaac" or "Super Meat Boy", then this game is simply a MUST BUY for you! I want to thank the publisher for offering me the free evaluation key to make my video and this review possible. I want to thank "ZAX" the developer teenage kid who developed this game solo even more for making such a gem of a game here on Steam! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Or a Must Buy if you like these sorta of games) - My Score: A Perfect 10 out of 10!
This game has taken clear inspiration from Binding of Isaac (one of my favorite game of all time). That being said, I feel like this is a hidden gem. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play much because I'm fighting a bout of tendonitis and action games don't go well with inflamed tendons. However, I played enough to know I like it. The main reason is the game feel. Hits feel crunchy and the action is solid. A great game to pick up and play a few rounds. That being said, I do have some suggestions: -The game recommended a controller to me. I tried but could barely kill one enemy as aiming with analog sticks felt slow and trying to grapple effectively was difficult. When I switched to mouse and keyboard it solved all those problems. So maybe remove that screen so people don't just rage-quit if they fail with controller. -The jump felt a bit floaty. Maybe make the downfall a bit faster, or incorporate some kind of downwards smash to give players more control over their movement. Looking forward to really getting into it after my tendons heal up.
2/10 felt like i was getting crushed with no chance even on easy and always out of ammo - janky combat - using a controller and its really hard to aim strait on the ground with guns and thats going to be a large % of your enemies - none of the achievements work - bombs are almost worthless, they wont even kill a basic enemy - you only get 2 weapons, this includes your melee that you NEED. should be at least 2 weapons that use two different types of ammo and a melee attack
