This game has potential but at the current state its way too barebones, so many things are missing and it's not exactly the most polished experience either. If you want a finished product I would wait for a couple of years but if you want to support a small passionate developer and see how the game grows it's totally worth buying.
I have a few hours of playtime now, and I've owned the game for a few years. I honestly would not recommend it as a competitor to other life sims in it's current state. Here's my honest review of it while being an active member of it's community for the past couple of years. PROS - You can run this bad boy on a microwave -Lots of inclusivity for POC and lgbtq+ Identities - Soft and cozy artwork and sound track, very solid cozy game in general CONS - Going back into the inclusivity thing, this game lacks body types and masc or fem frames. It almost feels like it was meant to cater to one kind of audience. It makes every character feel... the same, which I'm sure is the opposite effect the dev was hoping for. If I made a cis woman, I want her to look like a cis woman. People have curves, people have broad chests, people are skinny, people are chunkier. Body representation is NOT included in this game. Which is kind of ironic. - The game is extremely bare bones and dull due to a lack of development. There's no intriguing gameplay, no marriage, no events, no interesting public lots, not a lot of build mode objects, etc. as was promised in the road map YEARS ago. The game has been in development for 6 years now, and is showcasing Yandere levels of progress. Now this is heavily due to the fact the game only has one developer, and they do not work on the game fulltime, but this should be mentioned for those looking to purchase an actual game. - Due to the lack of gameplay, the game almost feels like a chore to play past a few hours in one sitting. - There isn't a very active modding community, so you cannot rely on modders to fill in the gameplay gaps. - Building limitations and pathing issues, you cannot place a nightstand next to a bed, and tinies need adequate space to walk past things, which also means you cannot clutter homes they way you can in other life sims. Overall, I know I come off harsh, but I truly enjoy this game and it's community. The developer is extremely nice, but I want to be as honest as possible with it's potential player base. The game has so much potential, but if you're looking for a solid life sim, leave this one in the oven for a few more years before you purchase it. If you're looking to support a small developer and join a close knit community, then this game is for you! Hopefully, change will come soon.
Created a lumberjack family with a quaint cottage in the middle of the woods, 5 days in wife gets pregnant and husband gets electrocuted trying to fix the tv. Now she's a widow with 1 baby daughter. What else is there to say, its pixels sims minus the microtransactions and constant crashes.
It's "The Sims: Even Bigger Pixels Edition". Really, it plays very much like The Sims 1, from 2000, but with big chonky pixels that sorta emulate running at 320x200 or something akin to it. The graphics style makes me feel like I'm playing a very odd X-COM UFO Defense mod. The game is nice and simple and straightforward, like the original Sims was without expansions. It's a little limited at the moment, but hey, early access.
Not sure how the game got the “Verfied in steamdeck” despite the camera not even rotating with the specified button and several things being binded to the D pad at the same time on the same buttons also when pressing “Save and quit game” the game immediately shot down
love the direction they developer is taking. Cute and simple but becoming more defined, detailed, and open ended
I like how even though it is clearly inspired by the original Sims PC game, it has its own charisma and charm that makes it stand out as its own thing. I started playing Tiny Life as an alternative to Sims, but now I'd play Tiny Life as my first pick. The style of pixel graphics is also really good for being the exact right amount of feeling very customizable, and therefor very immersive, but also smooth and simple to play without feeling overwhelmed or cluttered. I recommend this game if you make OCs, like roleplay or worldbuilding, or are a fan of games like My Little Life, Minecraft, Terraria or Sims.
An amazing replacement for the Sims tbh. I've been trying to find one for ages now, especially since EA's recent bs, and this has been SUCH a balm to the soul omggg ! It's so cute, fun and super queer friendly! I can't wait to mess around and harrass my Tinies some more soon hehe
优秀的模拟人生代餐,未来可期
Early access sim-like game that is shaping up to be quite a great one! I've been looking for something like this for ages, my kids and I have had a great time building our neighbourhoods.
