Instead, I try to explain what worked for me, what didn't, and who I think the game might appeal to. [/i] [b] What is Small Spaces? [/b] In this game, you are an interior designer of sorts! Your job is to unpack and decorate multiple styles of homes. [b] Quick Pros [/b] ✔ High replay ability ✔ Lots of content to explore ✔ Long playtime potential ✔ Frequent updates from developers ✔ Beautiful environments ✔ Strong visual style ✔ Detailed world design [b] Quick Cons [/b] ✘ The space outside of the building feels very plain [b] Initial Thoughts: [/b] -"Okay I am getting the hang of this, I wish I had more items though." -"ARE YOU KIDDING ME I CAN ADD MORE OR DELETE ITEMS?" -"Are we serious- I can recolour them to? God who's dream am I living cause this must not be real." [b] Beginner Player Friendly? [/b] Yes, I would argue this game is beginner players friendly. There is a straight forward tutorial and the controls are always listed on parts of your screen or as you hover over objects. Once you get the hang of things it is very easy to understand what is going on! [b] Game Play: [/b] In this game your goal is to decorate many different styles of apartments, houses and more! There are a few different game styles to try out and well over at least 50 levels that I have seen so far. Decorate, recolour, resize, add, destroy and just decorate to your hearts content. [b] Graphics: [/b] The graphics are more realistic and are very pretty. The environment itself inside the apartment becomes nice as you decorate, however the environment outside could use some sort of colour. I wonder if we could even make it rain ourselves or just import something to give it a little more of a 'wow' factor. [b] Community: [/b] This community is fairly new, however, everyone seems very creative and guides have already been made on the steam forums regarding different tips and tricks that this game has to offer. I am sure if you have any questions someone here would be willing to assist you. [b] How long can you play? [/b] So far I have only played a half hour of this game, (as I bought a lot of games bulk from the steam sale), and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am one of those people who wished unpacking had more levels and this game is giving off a more realistic unpacking with a few more added features. I can picture myself spending quite a bit more time in this game just decorating and enjoying what this developer has created. [b] My Opinion: [/b] In my opinion, if you were someone who misses unpacking and wish there was more to that game maybe you should give this game a try. As its got way more added features and you still get to unpack different things and decorate to your hearts content. I cannot wait to see the direction that this developer decides to take with this game. My favourite cozy game of all time. Love the detailed photo-real furniture and design elements. Love the first-person walk-through mode. Love the option to change time and have the weather change. All in all it adds up to a really comfortable, mellow and atmospheric little gem. The room templates are set in different cities from Tokyo to Berlin and others and each captures that vibe pretty well. Every room template that provides you with your "blank canvas" on which to lay out your cozy masterpieces is interesting and different AND places I would love to actually live in. Absolutely recommend. Great game. Hope it continues to grow and add more design pieces, cities, and homes.

This game scrathes a deep itch I didn't even know I had. Who would have known I would become so emotionally invested in a couch?? If you like to organize, decorate, and make things aesthetically pleasing, this game is for you. Its like being able to find an apartment and being able to furnish it to however you want without spending hundreds of dollars. It is also very addictive because I have spent HOURS adjusting bed placements without even noticing. I really look forward to the curtain updates. Its nice that they have a timeline you can access showing the future updates and what is planned for the game.

I refunded this game, and I wanted to like this game, but it's a bit laggy and there's not much content; I understand it just released and is an early access game, but there's not much sandbox freedom. The "Design" gameplay option is really nice, but there's a lack of options to pick from, and some items you can't even recolour. Also, the colours when recoloured are a bit muted, and you can't change that, despite making a colour "brighter". There's also a shop where you can get more items to use in the Sandbox "Design" mode but you have to purchase them using stars (which you earn 1 every level, but slow grind since there isn't many levels yet). I might come back to this game at a later stage, but for now, I shall be passing on this one. Still a nice game to check out though, if you enjoy Sims or Tenants, or any type of interior decorating games, but at its current state, I cannot fully recommend.

I had a specific need I was looking for a game like this for; something easy to use that lets me mock up different rooms for comic characters to inhabit. And this is perfect, fit the bill exactly! It's an enjoyable experience otherwise, too. Easy to play, relaxing, lovely to look at. I extra appreciate that all of the art is hand-crafted in this age of plagiarist image generation machines, too.

very fun, cute, and relaxing, but as ive played the early access version there's still a lot of bugs to work out. still enjoyable, but hopefully they get fixed soon as it can get kind of frustrating at times

I love this game. It scratches the Unpacking itch whilst also being unique in itself. The levels have two modes, unpacking and creative which is really nice as you can make it however you want. also the unpacking mode has guides so you can go through and play once with guides on, and place things like the devs created and then go back through and place things however you like. creative mode I found a little overwhelming at first so I played through all the unpacking levels first and unlocked more of the furniture before going in and creating my own. I love that I can play so many different ways and spend hours creating things how I want it and as a sims player who would spend hours making one room, I very much enjoy the creative freedom it gives. Its early access so its obviously gonna have bugs that need fixing, that's fine, it happens. My main issue was some of the walls are hard to work around making it harder to place things on interior walls though that might be my experience with the sims coming in. there is a few bugs with the lights on some levels causing pixelization around where the light ends up. You can just play through the level because its not too distracting but its not ideal. There's also likely a few other bugs that I haven't picked up on since I haven't played every level yet but so far there's only small ones that will get ironed out over time. Personally I love the game and recommend it to anyone who likes Unpacking and similar games.

For an early access game this is great! I enjoyed Tiny Glade, and this has the same vibe, except Tiny Glade can take up a week of your time or an entire day to make a glade, whereas in this you can do as little or as much as you like. I enjoy the way it "levels up", from a single shared room, to larger entire apartments and the different vibes of the locations. The small narratives that go with each space in terms of the people that live there offer a sense of warmth and presence that isnt in other games - where you make a space but there is the sense it is trapped in a desolate time bubble! Yes the controls are absolutely infuriating - but you can work with them and find ways to achieve unique touches by using items in ways that they are absolutely not intended. But these things are to be expected with early access. Its clear the creator is slowly adding more items, and I expect items or features will evolve to make this a richer experience to keep coming back to. It is immensely relaxing, and something that slots into day to day life with ease when you have an hour of downtime to enjoy. Kudos to the developer and thanks for designing this - I look forward to helping support its ongoing development :)

Very calm and relaxing game especially if you like home design.
