Timelapse

To play this game requires, I believe, an appreciation of how difficult game development was back in the early 90's and how much genuine artwork and hard work went into it. I had purchased Timelapse way back then but I had never finished the game. When I saw it on STEAM, of course I had to buy it. Now, it looks like I am going to finally finish the game. I like that.

Anyone having display issues might find this article useful. The game has unique puzzles and the story is fairly interesting. I think steam is offering the game at a very fair price.

MAKE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT!!! Don't get me wrong, the GAME is great! If you liked Myst, you'll like this one, too. But it royally messes with my display settings every time I play it, to the point I have to reboot, and even worse, SOMEHOW, Firefox has forgotten my addons and theme...not sure how that would even happen, but it did. I'm guessing it's not common, or else it wouldn't have "mostly positive" reviews, but still, be aware of the possibility.

One of the best puzzle games ever written next to the Myst series. This is a staple of my childhood computer game history and just play with it for fun. Very touchy to run on modern PCs though. For those with compatibility issues (at least on windows 7): - Set TL.exe to run with Windows 2000 compatibility. Do not mess with any of the tick boxes (leave them all blank). * Discovered when playing in the Mayan world, the game would crash unless ran with 2000 compatibility. Not even XP compatibility would work with this game. - Launch with TL_Launcher, as opposed to directly running TL.exe. * Otherwise unpredictable graphics issues arise.

I went back to play this game again and I had forgotten how hard it was for me. Too much documenting and not enough straightforward problem solving for my tastes.

Didnt play a lot but already can say that this game is a real hell quest, though impressions it gives when you've done every puzzle without a guide overbuys the price of this game, really needs a review on youtube by some funny guy to make it seen by more people

Myst系クリック脱出アドベンチャーパズルゲーム 強制フルスクでプレイ後はグラフィック設定が書き換えられ再起動まで画面の色がちょっと変わってしまうので注意（原因不明） 島から始まって５つの世界に行く所とかまんまMyst ところがMystと大きく違うのは操作性について このゲームは行きたいところをクリックするのではなく、画面の上の方をクリックすると前に進むと言う感じで やりたい行動とクリック場所がマッチしません。 実際には前に進むではなく詳しく見るという動作に置き換わっていたり、横を見たいのに後ろを向いてしまったりとめちゃくちゃです 特に序盤、砂浜のようなマップなのに、移動の操作が「前に進む」と「後ろを見る」しかない場所が多すぎて、ただ右に進みたいだけなのにそのカーソルが出ず、前に進み続けるしか無いみたいな意味不明な状況が頻発します。 当然謎解きゲーなのでちょっとのヒントを見逃すとアウト。角度も重要なのにこれじゃとてもじゃないけどプレイ出来ません。前述した強制フルスクとプレイ後色がおかしくなるバグもあって、クリアは断念しました。 まあMyst好きならやってみてもいいと思います でも、別にMystシリーズって既に7作くらい出てますよね

I've loved this game since it was released in 1996. Timelapse is what addicted me to PC puzzle games. (Plus mysterious lost civilizations are a major guilty pleasure genre for me.) I won't lie - Timelapse is at times *maddeningly* difficult. You'll enjoy it more if you allow yourself to cheat and check an online FAQ every now and again. But for the most part, the puzzles are engaging and solvable, and the ambiance will suck you in to the fictional world. You'll find you're actually learning about these ancient cultures as you're working through the game. Be patient and give it a go - you'll be glad you did.

I had some nostalgia for this from playing this back when it was originally release in the 90s. It's more or less playable on Linux (with Proton 9 at the time of review, Manjaro with mouse and keyboard), but you need to alt-tab out and back into the game periodically whenever the screen goes completely black. Puzzles range from awful to decent, acting is mediocre to horrible (especially the "archeologist"). Only recommended for those who played it before or those and/or have a odd desire to play dated Myst clones from the 90s
