The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

As always, the sherlock games know how to not disappoint as it tests your problem-solving skills and detective work like crazy. Would recommend in a heartbeat just for Sherlock and Watson's quips and bickering alone. Though it is probably not the best to play in 2026 as it sure has aged like MILK! but if you love it, get it, and gamble on if you love it even more or hate it!

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a quite simple puzzle game. Most of the time you are running from point A to point B. It resembles a walking simulator. The puzzles are mediocre...not very challenging. You feel a lot of love for Sherlock Holmes. You are seeing some references to previous entries (although they are mainly pointing to Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper). Regarding the plot I can say I had fun and was clearly entertained.

The game locks up with a black screen after the opening cinematic when starting a new game. I am far from the only person with this problem. I, like others, have already tried all recommended steps. I notice this game was last updated in 2023. Why did they not fix this glaring issue? I don't get this nonsense with other games. I expect better.

Oyun biraz eski olduğu için oynanış ve grafik bakımından ilk başlarda rahatsız etse de zaman geçtikçe alışıyorsunuz. Bulmacalar genel olarak çözülebilir ama bazıları zorluyor gerçekten. Onun dışında hikayesi ve işlenişi gayet güzeldi. Sherlock Holmes'a ilgiliyseniz sarar ama sadece oyun bakımından oynamayı düşünüyorsanız bir tık daha yenilerini öneririm.

Recommended with caveats. I played this way back when on the ps3 and I do not remember it being this strange to play. I have to say the start of the game is excellent. Smaller locations and deduction boards make it feel like you're actually investigating crime scenes. I can even tolerate the small spaces with just a ton of puzzles in them for the most part but later in the game the story gets ridiculous and I just wanted it to be over. I actually think I prefer the previous game in the serious which was Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper. Things made sense there. I really am borderline on whether I recommend this overall or not. I wonder if I actually finished the game previously because I didn't remember half of it. Anyways, it's a real mixed bag. Has some good points but also has a lot of flaws.
