It is one of my favorite games I’ve played this year. The main character is Snufkin, a musician who returns to Moominvalley after being away for the winter. When he comes back, he finds that his best friend Moomintroll is missing, and the beautiful valley has been changed by the Park Keeper. As Snufkin, you need to help restore nature, support the valley’s residents, and discover what happened to Moomintroll. The gameplay is a relaxing mix of exploration, puzzle solving, light stealth, and story-driven quests. I really enjoyed how the game balances the main story with side quests, because every character you meet has their own personality and fun little stories to share. One of my favorite features is the use of musical instruments. As you progress, you unlock new instruments that can be used to solve puzzles, interact with the environment, and open new paths. I love how music is woven into the gameplay instead of being just background sound. The game also tells you which instrument to use, so the puzzles feel satisfying without becoming frustrating. Besides the gameplay, the music in this game is also one of its biggest highlights. The soundtrack is beautiful and fits the atmosphere of Moominvalley perfectly. My favorite part of the game was the night area. It looked absolutely beautiful and cozy. I especially loved standing on the cliff at night, looking up at the moon while listening to the peaceful yet slightly mysterious music. The whole scene felt so calm and relaxing that I just wanted to stay there and enjoy the moment. I recommend the game to players who enjoy cozy adventures, beautiful art styles, and relaxing gameplay. In the end, when Moomintroll carried Snufkin out of the park after they escaped, it felt like such a warm and emotional moment. I loved seeing their friendship and the happiness of being reunited. 🥹🩷
Snufkin Melody of Moominvalley is the cutest game I've played during 2026. You play as Snufkin who is returning to Moominvalley from his journey only to find his best friend missing and the moominvalley ruined by the Park keeper. The river has gone dry and all the animals have fled the valley. Your job is to return the valley to it's former glory and find your friend. I really love this story, it's simple and I like the theme of 'nature must be kept untouched'. So, you go explore the valley which opens more as you play and help inhabitants and get more items. The valley feels big and it breathes full of life. There are many inhabitants, who always have something interesting or funny to say, which makes each encounter worth to hear. The world yells at the player to explore every nook and cranny. By exploring you can find points to level your inspiration or secret ladders to random places. I always like when games reward you for exploration. The music, art and the ambience is just out of this world. Sometimes I just had to stop for a moment to listen to the nature ambience and to look at the beautifully drawn scenery. I really like how this game depicts night time. The darkness and the moon feel like they jumped out of a Moomin book. After the credits rolled I was sitting here and smiling, the game had warmed my heart and this is a feeling that is hard to get out of a player, which proves to me this game is really the most unique game I have played. Snufkin offers an enjoyable experience for the hardcore Moomin fans, but even someone who doesn't understand anything about this franchise can get a lot from this.
A fairly mediocre casual/adventure game. The target audience is children, or those who are specifically into Snufkin and Moomin (who only appear in about one-tenth of the game). Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Reviewed by Detotated Gamer
As a fan of the Moomins growing up (watched every cartoon episode and read the books!), this game was a bit of a nostalgic one! It's a fun little adventure, although the graphics are simple it is still pretty. Would have loved it to be longer but I guess there's only so much you can do in a small game. Over all, I would definitely recommend. Especially if you are looking for a little gap filler in your day!
40 minutes passed by very quickly but the satisfaction didn't come. This game has great artstyle and for some people I can see this big but it's not for me, unfortunately.
such a lovely game :')
very cute story with a good moral and amazing artwork:>
Милая и очень красивая игра. Расслабляет. Поиграла пока 62 минуты, но прям не оторваться. На геймпаде играть одно удовольствие)
Fun and relaxing game with lots of positivity and some humor. The art is especially great. You can feel there was lots of love put into the game. If I had to list cons it's the flute and harmonica songs you play to interact with the world are always the same and get so tiring after playing it a few hours. Getting all achievements is difficult, unless you play the game with a checklist. I couldn't find all the pages and vistas. The playtime is around 4 hours. I recommend it!
Game was beautiful <3
