Decent Dark Souls like experience set in futuristic dystopia. Everybody runs like crazy in Jericho city, tearing each other limbs for upgrades. Despite that game have interesting levels and satisfactory progression system. Unlocking new path by getting through obstacles - shortcut to the next area can be open for easy access. Boss fights are merciless. Some fights can be avoided - drone can be used to shoot enemies from distance dealing some minor damage but after upgrading it's actually deadly. Gameplay is based mostly around melee weapons, so dodging and stamina is important. Different gear which give bonus for equipping whole set (after getting each necessary part). For the most part game have good balance between combat and evasion, allowing for some tactics. Sometimes it's more smart to taunt one enemy at a time or avoid fight at all. Cover art sucks, but gameplay doesn't. Game made for Dark Souls people.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Poor claustrophobic map design results in janky Camera angles. This make it impossible to predict enemy attack animation, which makes countering difficult.
A fun sci-fi action rpg with a unique setting. The gameplay is slow, tactical, and methodical in the best sense.
The atmosphere of the first game completely hooked me and made me want to finish it right away. I started the sequel immediately after but it was a bit disappointing cause it lacked the environmental horror vibe that made the first game so memorable. The sequel definitely has more unique weapons and gear but overall, I still prefer the first game.......
Review after getting 100% of achievements. The Surge 2 is what I think a pretty underrated sci-fi themed action-RPG, significantly improving on the original with faster, more brutal combat and improved, intricate world design. I especially liked the tactical limb-dismemberment system and customizable character builds. Its not too easy but also not very hard. If you play story only you'll be trough everything in about 20+ hours, 50 hours if you wanna get 100% (skill dependend). Key Strengths: - Combat Mechanics: Highly satisfying, gory and fast-paced combat system focusing on directional parrying and targeting specific enemy limbs to sever gear and weapons. - Level Design: Offers a complex, interconnected, and rewarding world that encourages exploration. - Customization: Deep, flexible character progression allowing for diverse armor set bonuses and implant loadouts. - Improvements: A substantial step up from the first game, with better pacing and more varied environments. Potential Drawbacks: - Narrative and NPCs: The story was generally weak overall, and side quests where often forgettable. - Boss Battles: Some bosses can be uninspired, although the combat mechanics largely compensate for this. - Difficulty: It is a challenging, sometimes punishing experience that one the other hand may feel unfair to those unfamiliar with the genre. - Graphics: It looks ok, but also not more than that.
Сложный, динамичный и выросший в масштабе сиквел футуристической версии Dark Souls, который стал лучше оригинала почти во всём, но всё так же страдает от слабой технической реализации.
Another decent soulslike. Far from perfect, but still a good pick for short play sessions. The standout is the map design—shortcuts looping back to bonfires are well thought out and satisfying to unlock. Combat against humanoid enemies feels great, and the limb-cutting mechanic never gets old. Weapon design is also solid; each weapon type feels unique and fun to use. Armor looks fantastic too, letting you stay stylish throughout the game. The downsides: Boss design is easily the weakest part. While they look decent, their combat and movesets are dull, offering little challenge—most feel like regular enemies with a name slapped on. The game is also overly dark at times, making it hard to see even a few meters ahead in some areas. As for the story, it’s pretty forgettable—more of an excuse to move from one fight to the next. Overall, it’s a fun and enjoyable experience, but also the kind of game you’ll likely forget soon after finishing it.
Randomizing and clearing my backlog as best as I can - 27/343 While this is better than the crap heap that was The Surge, it’s still a crap heap. The awful level design, the janky combat (though not as janky as the first), the abundant spongy enemy placements, the healing system. It’s just not a good soulslike in any way. For that reason, I’m out.
The game was pretty fun. I had moments of enjoyment and moments where I wanted to throw the controller at the monitor. Lots of scrap lost during the gameplay hahaha. The story in the game isn’t bad, you can understand what’s happening from beginning to end. The fights are cool, although I think there should have been a better tutorial for the combat system. Or maybe I just missed it, but it takes a while to manage a well-executed parry. The game has a good variety of equipment and weapons. The armors are all a bit ugly though hahaha, but there is character customization and several weapon styles. Now, some things I didn’t like about the game: not having a map made the gameplay harder, since I was constantly not knowing where I had been or where I was going. I couldn’t find some side quests because I had already passed by those places before but didn’t remember where the entrance was to go back and do the quest. Only unlocking fast travel at the end of the game didn’t help much either. The only place I found where you can travel is from the bar to the port. There are also few enemy varieties; most of them look very similar. Even after everything I said that I didn’t like, I still recommend the game. It’s not very difficult, and people who are already used to playing souls-like games will probably finish it much more easily and faster than I did hahaha.
The Surge 2 has some features that are nicely polished, but overall I felt it lost it's identity in comparison to the 1st. The 1st game was very sci-fi horror focused in a setting that made you want to explore, investigate, and learn about the story. The decision to make the 2nd one more "open world" was a poor one. The setting was boring, uninspiring, and frankly lame in comparison to the 1st. The parry mechanic change was an interesting one. In the 1st, you can definitely abuse parry and counter every enemy until they die, so I understand why it had to change. However the execution of the new directional parry system was wonky and made it worse. I do like how they expanded the gear and levels, but I felt the implants were useless in comparison to the 1st game. They made the game easier, which was disappointing. It also runs like ass in comparison to the 1st. Probably because it's open world with more assets. I can see why they never made a 3rd game, they lost their "spark" (hah, in-game reference).
