First off, despite the obvious critizism about the story - it's controversal stuff for sure - I liked the mystery about all of it. The visuals are stunning, music, sound design are just a treat and the voice actors are great and deliver the story in a way that keeps you hooked. It runs great on my pc and I had only one major crash - sadly just before the ending. Maybe that crash was the reason for the missed archivement in the end. I tried different ways to finish the game but I couldn't get the final achievement for beating the game. Doesn't matter - I finished the story and for what it is worth, I enjoyed this mysterious walking simulator. Surely not for people who get offended by immoral stories and those who want more gameplay than story.
Once I got through some issues trying to get this to run on the resolution I play at and increasing the frame rate to a better frame rate, I thought it was a pretty good game.
The writing is a little stretched, dialogue feels confusing and sometimes the story makes unexpected jumps from day to day
The glorification of pedophilia doesn't help the writing quality )_)
I can only recommend this if you can handle heavy themes. The ending will not likely be what you wish for and you would probably want to burn down the whole hotel in the end (that was what I would've wanted to do) but that won't be an option. Characters in the game have seriously twisted worldviews. Other than these, the voice work is very good and the atmosphere is well built. Graphics are good also. At one point I had to look at a walkthrough when I got stuck but it was basically because of my own oversight. 8/10
This game was so unsettling that I kept finding myself with my jaw wide open. I honestly had to double‑check Google to make sure it wasn’t classified as a horror game, because the atmosphere absolutely gives The Shining vibes. You play as Nicole, holed up alone in her family’s hotel during a snowstorm after both of her parents have died, and the isolation becomes its own character. As you uncover the mystery of Rachel Foster, the tension just keeps building. I wish there were more elements to interact with, and Irving is such a charming presence that I found myself hoping for a happy ending—but it’s not that kind of game. The story is strong, full of WTF and OMG moments, and the creepiness never lets up. It’s genuinely a good narrative experience, but wow… it is so creepy.
this is such an underrated gem that i would put in the category of similar vibes to edith finch in regards to gameplay/style, i dont replay story games like this often but ive played this like 5 times now and theres something so appealing about the characters you dont even see and the story slowly unfolding. sometimes short story games are the best. mixed reviews dont know ball

Should have just said it was a big empty hotel like The Shining but instead we have to hear two of the dumbest **** on the planet talk you to death and then both commit suicide. This could have been great without any story because the hotel is cool and it's totally reminiscent of The Shining but everything else sucks the life out of this game as soon as the narration starts. It is like fire watch with the **** caliber of conversation and ultimate flop of A twist. Just two worthless individuals finding each other. And you have to sit through the daytime TV After School special of their lousy existence while trying to explore. Always waiting for something to happen but the only thing that does is the wind blows a door. As scary as a fart in the wind. do not recommend
Simulador de caminar, atmosfera bien lograda, algo corto, pero es bastante disfrutable.
