Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.25/day in the week to Jul 22 → 0.38/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you're a long time fan of vanguard then I recommend getting this game on sale. However, even then I'm still quite hesitant to recommend this game considering it's price + the amount of DLC's you need to buy in order to build an Optimal/Meta competitive deck. If you're a total newcomer THEN I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS GAME. EVEN ON SALE. Not only is there little to no players online, the story fights legitimately feels rigged against your favor. To simply put, even if you manage to build an Optimal deck and execute its synergies flawlessy (Without DLC's) the story AI WILL CHEAT ITS WAY TO VICTORY by miraculously pulling every needed trigger to win in crucial moments. It's damage is at 5/6? It pulls out a heal. You're at 4/6? It suddenly pulls out an Over Trigger or a Critical. TWICE. If this happened to me twice or thrice I would simply dismiss it as bad RNG. But for it to happen in 4th, 5th and 6th match? In a row? It's hard to not notice. I honestly regret putting investment into it. I legitimately wanted to get into Vanguard since I love the Character and Creature designs and got hooked into it's interesting lore. But so far, the game has been a terrible experience. Note: You *May change* the difficulty into Very Easy to "combat" the cheating/Rigged AI. But that feels more like "Wanting to just get this over it" rather than actually getting into the game/lore/story.

If you do not have anyone around you to play Cardfight Vanguard with, I think this game is a great way to relive that experience. Yes, the DLCs are quite pricey, but I feel they are still reasonable since you can get all the cards in game. Compared to buying real life booster packs, which are even more expensive and do not guarantee the cards you want, this feels like better value. Plus, there is no guarantee you will always have someone to play with in real life. My only complaint is for them to update the latest booster sets ASAP.
The game's content is always nearly a year behind the in paper TCG. You can't use the keyboard/textbox to write anything or else the game will crash or freeze. Some content that was in the previous version has been taken out. Games against people are too long to find and sometimes even when you find them, the game will crash and you'll still lose points. Game is, even without the DLC, far too expensive for too little reason from a developer and company with absolutely no excuse.
The good ✅ More of everything. More cards, more opponents, more mechanics, and more ways to play. ✅ Vintage mode! Play OG Vanguard like you're season 1 Kai and Aichi! ✅ Much improved deck building. The UI is better laid out and the "Related Cards" button makes it easier to build decks around a Vanguard of your choice. It's not perfect but it's a great addition. ✅ The ability to import your cards from the previous game. The bad ❌ The translation is worse. They fixed the awkward line from the first game "No lose intended" but introduced so many more errors. They mispelled Vanguard in the tutorial. ❌ The resolution of the cards is a downgrade from the first game. ❌ Some UI aspects are a downgrade. The ability to view cards in fights is more cumbersome compared to the previous game. ❌ The story is lackluster but made a little better by the presence of DivineZ characters. ❌ Major spoilers for DivineZ. But that one is on me.

WHY DOES EVERYTHING GOTTA BE A DLC
Game is good wish a bunch of content wasnt locked behind paywalls.
Yes, the game is a bit costly, but it's definitely cheaper than playing the game IRL. If you already have a decent community in your town and you have no issues playing Vanguard weekly, I understand that you might find DD2 useless. But if, like me, you have literally NO ONE to play Vanguard with, this game is a blessing. Story is decent, the character design is pretty, the soundtracks are absolute bangers, and you have the entirety of the Standard card pool until Festival Booster 2025. Yes, it's like 12 months behind compared to the TCG schedule, and yes, you have to pay almost twice the starting amount in order to unlock everything, but assuming you buy every single DLC (including the cosmetic ones) you don't go higher than 200 bucks in total with buying the game and updating it (give or take) which is still lower than what you would spend for a single slightly competitive deck IRL. I wouldn't mind it if Vanguard could become more popular than it is, given it's the best cardgame I've ever played, but I don't want a gacha like Yugioh Master Duel or the hellish predatory money-grabbing horror that was Vanguard ZERO, so it's fine if it stays like this. Especially because, and we all know that, supposedly "free-to-play" games end up draining more money than you realize. It's better if the expense is upfront. "But I never whaled on a single videogame!" That's either a lie or you're one of the rare exceptions. Go check your virtual wallet and see how much money you've recently spent on pixels and virtual cards. Big chance you'll ask yourself how it happened. I don't judge. I basically spent the equivalent of 4 paychecks playing Arknights in the timespan of 3 years. I'm not one to talk. But yeah, people are scared to pay a big sum upfront but end up spending more when they are made to believe that the thing is free. There are scientific studies behind this. Anyway, let's go back to the game. - Decent plot - Good visuals and character design - Decently large amount of prebuilt decks to choose from, and characters with improving decks that can stand a change against veteran players, which make for a very enjoyable and durable game (I'm not anywhere near building and trying out all the decks) - Masterpiece music If I had to complain about something, it would definitely be the fact that DD2 won't receive any new updates by the time I'm writing this. I want to try out the new cards! Oh, and the fact that the bots could be trained a bit better in playing the game. The "Very Hard" Mode is not really a challenge if the bot is unable to combo correctly. So yeah, the game is good. The only flaw is the fact we'll probably need to buy DD3 next year and migrate the game progress there. Not really a smart marketing strategy imo.
i love Vanguard but i would highly recommend finding any fan made service over this game as barely any one plays it and the DLC is way to expansive for everything the game actually offers unless you just want a solo practice sim but even then their are by far better free options and the devs just don't care about the game or player base issues from the last game are still present matching making takes for ever cause there are barely any players and even with a dwindling player base and plenty of complaints all they do is keep releasing more DLC so very very very very very far behind the current TCG that you won't be able to play any current decks you see for a very long time it very much saddens me they sunset the mobile game for these games and couldn't do better with the massive amount of resources at their disposal
