About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

Fatal error!
Überlegt also gut, wo ihr eure Punkte setzt. Google translation: I am absolutely fascinated! It has a super cool setting and beautiful graphics. The colors and atmosphere—along with the music—are spectacular! In-game decisions often influence how the story unfolds. One such choice involves deciding which faction to support: broadly speaking, you can choose between communism, capitalism, and a cult ^^ The whole thing is designed with a mix of humor and satire! I generally like having companions; even though you can't equip them with gear here, you can at least select a few skills and upgrade them slightly. You unlock these companions through quests and can choose which ones to bring along when leaving the spaceship, since you can only take two at a time. Once you’ve committed to a skill, there’s no undoing it, so think carefully about where you spend your points. You should focus on just 3 or 4 skills max and level them up early. Otherwise, you won't be able to utilize certain game features, which in turn limits your options during conversations and decision-making. In my opinion, Lockpicking and Hacking are important. But so are Persuasion, Engineering, and Science... and Ranged Weapons... well, Medicine isn't bad either, or Leadership—so when in doubt, it's better to Google it ;) It’s excellent that my ultrawide monitor is supported, as some games still don't offer that. There are also plenty of graphics and gameplay settings to tweak. Best of all: I can play the game in third-person perspective! There are so many games I might enjoy that are only playable in first-person... and unfortunately, that number keeps growing. That’s sad for us gamers who suffer from motion sickness. Another big plus for me is that you can adjust the difficulty level. Character creation is important to me, too! And the rest works just as you’d expect from games in this genre. It’s also worth noting that you don't really run into inventory space issues. And finally, with today's update (June 24, 2026), there's a photo mode! There’s also a mirror at the spaceship station now for changing your appearance. You can even customize the look of your armor! Awesome <3 Have I ever encountered a bug? I can't recall any! For me, it’s a thoroughly worthwhile game—one I picked up during a sale.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I genuinely liked the original game, it was like the final spark of the silver age of video games. Still, this game resembles with the 1st game only in the beginning, literally the first location you arrive at and that's it, after that the game slowly dies and even the main story line doesn't seems to be a bit interesting. So you just strive for 50 hours waiting for something to happen, hopelessly. Also, it's been a year since the release, still no info about 2 upcoming DLCs - that's good news.
This is a very, very soft yes. The story, worldbuilding, factions and quests are mostly mid to boring. They never really made me feel engaged at all. However the companions this time around are soooo much better and the combat up until late midgame was kinda fun. All in all buy it on a discount, if you are bored.
Outer worlds 1 was bad, but the Spacer's Choice edition did a lot of work on improving it, making it playable in my opinion. This gave me hope for this game, but it seems like whatever they learned was forgotten. The skill system in this game is easily the worst part, punishing you and locking you out of content for building a character the way you want. The combat is clunky and bullet spongy. Ankle deep water will kill you. My suggestion would be to pass on this, unless they release an "Auntie's Choice" edition to fix the mistakes they made yet again.
Not bad but very bland. I don't remember why, but I liked Outer Worlds 1 and I didn't get all the hate about it online, yet I found Outer Worlds 2 quite uncompelling. There's a decent amount of content and I can appreciate the work behind it, but it all feels very shallow. The story is just okay. The npcs are not very compelling, you barely interact with the "bad guy", the conclusion feels rushed/disappointing (no talking with your crew before or after, weird and scarce dialogue deciding who would commit some pointless sacrifice). Auntie's choice felt kind of a boring faction. The companions are also disappointing. Most of them join your party too quick. They barely have any dialogue lines between them, barely any dialogue lines during/after important events. The voice acting is great, though. The gameplay is kinda bland. I wanted to go for an hybrid melee/gun build and found it lacking. Spent half the game with the same weapons (last special melee weapon you get towards the end has the same damage as one you get halfway through the game). There are no stat changes for melee attack speed, reload speed, weapon switch speed, no melee skills. The skills/stats are whatever (speech is kinda op). There's a lot of perks, which is cool, but you won't be able to unlock most of them. I'm a big fan of Flaws, even if most of the time they're not worth it (creaking knees one is funny). There is no respec system, which is a big disappointment. I guess the intention is not letting players cheese certain sections by temporarily upping speech? But locking them into bad builds is not the solution. Map design is also bland. Maps are too big and you have no means of transportation other than running, making exploration annoying. There's barely any interesting rewards for exploring the world or the instances. Level design is also mostly boring, linear except with a couple of vents where you can disable automechanicals/turrets. Collectibles are also boring, materials which you likely won't need, and miscellaneous food/inhaler charge. Weapons: decent variety for ranged, not melee Crafting: I really disliked it and mostly ignored it throughout the game. There are a ton of recipes but they're always the same 2 o 3 things for every weapon, most of which you won't use. The UI is bad, there is a lot of noise with duplicated recipes, recipes for weapons you don't have, etc. I obsessively explore and collect everything, yet I finished the game with half my weapons without mods (like, the gun hammer. why does it have a slot if there are no mods for it?). Many special equipment (like Gary armor, which I admit is quite funny) doesn't even have extra slots to use crafting for. Also, fall damage is overtuned and obnoxious. TL;DR get it for no more than 30 bucks if you like the genre, I guess
Massive letdown. Boring as ♥♥♥♥. Completely Linear again. Avowed-like RPGs do not work. Please stop.
Increadibly mediocre game. Unlikeable companions and unlikeble factions. theres not much to say that already has been said in other reviews.
This is got to be one of the blandest and unappealing game I think I've ever played. Nothing about this game feels good to play. The story and writing are there, I guess. I genuinely couldn't tell you what the main story is about or why I should care. And most of the dialogue I just skipped by because there's so much nonsense in it. None of the companions feel like they were written to be part of the story in any way. They are just bolted on as you come across them. Like one guy you just find in a bar, and the bartenders like “yeah I think you guys should do this thing for me”. What? The gunplay is boring and the weapons have no real impact to them. I mean they sound like airsoft guns and do as much damage. Of course that makes everything a bullet sponge. So that's always fun. Bosses always just end up being a game of find the exploit. Or literally just go run out in the hallway you just came from because they won't follow you out of the battle arena that they are supposed to stay in. The environment design is also somehow incredibly bland. Clearly, they want to maintain this illusion that it's an open world but it's not. I mean the first area you're in is on an island and they've clearly just built the island and then strewn some stuff around the map to try and fill it up. In the end, I think they only ended up using like half the island map that they built. The areas that are actually used are just a corridor that funnels you into an arena area for the battle related to the whatever quest you're on. In the end I just don't think that this game is worth buying. If you haven't played the first one, get the first one. But if you have played the first one should probably stop there.
