Good game, good journey, but the ending & lack of consequences may sour the experience after coming from Cold Steel III. Though the game is not full on terrible after terrible stuff. There are a lot to enjoy which I can list below. Really like that I can fish with Fie other than Rean & his students. Love how the whole of class vii is available for most of the game & not having segmented availability. Divine Knight encounters are more challenging now which I appreciate. Most importantly, this game has "Atrocious Raid" BGM once more & allows you to pilot Ordine. The downside is the ending like I said since the build up from Cold Steel III is grim & chaotic I was expecting actual stakes & consequences but Falcom decided to let it end on a predictable route instead. Due to this precedent I won't be surprised if all the next games endings are all just bait and switch. Still would recommend this one to finish your CS1-3 journey, more than that? IDK man
While there were minor changes that I had to get used to, such as turbo mode not working during Order animations and the nerfs to breaking enemies, I greatly enjoyed everything this game had to offer. Build expression is as diverse as ever. The concept of the curse pretty much allowed the story writers to do whatever, and while I would've preferred a more concrete story, it was fine nonetheless with a satisfying ending.
It has a lot of great moments, some of the best in the series, but it also has by far the worst pacing in the series so far. Bonding events are a big step up from the previous Cold Steel games, and the soundtrack is pretty good overall but has a few mid tracks.
