Trails of Cold Steel IV - Endgame
Lot of downsides but it has its moments. Also a few unexpectedly good soundtracks among the mediocre ones. Should have been a lot shorter game since 80 hours later I'm only 2/3rds of the way.
Very Good Game
I love this game. I love Cold Steel. Laura is best girl.
continues off of the 3rd one very well and then becomes cliche plot twist simulator worst one of the 4 jrpg so its still awesom i gues
Still not entirely sure what to think of this ninth entry in the Kiseki series, but I'm leaning towards a positive verdict. I can definitely see why it's one of the more divisive games, though. It's a really long game with a lot of stretched-out dialogue during which seemingly every character has to chime in, just to say that they agree with the protagonist. The Rean circlejerk is stronger than ever and while I didn't mind it as much as others, it's awful how your companions turn into mere yes-men whenever he's around. Not to mention the driving force behind the plot, the Erebonian curse. It can make characters do whatever moves the plot forward or causes drama at any given time. I wouldn't be surprised if it was able to divide by zero, solve world hunger and remove all the Hahas from the script at the same time. Despite all this, I still enjoyed the CSIV a lot and never felt like wanting it to be finally over. It was great to see and play as so many characters from previous arcs and see all of their interactions. The prologue, Act I and the finale were amazing. The former two because they focused on a smaller cast that had a clear goal in mind and the latter because of the sheer spectacle. And even though the exceptionally large cast caused the dialogue to drag on from time to time, in terms of gameplay, I had a blast customizing each and every one of them and try out different builds. So, keep in mind before playing: Cold Steel IV is A LOT of Kiseki. A lot of the good, but also a lot of the bad. The most it's ever been, in fact. I had a great time, but this time I'm sure the same won't apply to everyone.
