Bought it for the gameplay. Stayed for Joel and Ellie. Left emotionally damaged. 10/10.
I was forced to buy this piece of ♥♥♥♥ port because Sony is holding this legendary game hostage. The game is amazing, don't get me wrong, but this awful port of a mediocre remake runs worse than diarrhea. Even if you somehow had a NASA PC with a terabyte of VRAM, 4 terabytes of RAM, and enough cores and Gigahertz to make a Computer Science teacher cry, the game would still crash all the time, let alone someone like me who has ONLY 32GB of RAM! Memory leaks, lag spike, save corruption, more fake frames than real frames, crappy scaling, the entire gang of crappy modern performance issues is here! It's actually kinda impressive they managed to screw up the original game's code this badly, considering the good version ran on the PS3 over a decade ago. The only reason to ever buy this port is that Naughty Dog and Sony are actively going out of their way to hold the original hostage. They want you to buy the latest console, highest tier of subscription, or pay full price. I'll give them credit, they got me to spend 30 bucks on this shoddy port just so I can get a taste of what once was. Thank Gaben that games only sell on Steam when they're on sale, or else they'd probably do an inverse sale and jack the price up during the Summer and Winter periods. I genuinely feel so bad for the original devs of TLOU. The game, even the butchered version from this port, is amazing. It must hurt to see their blood and tears be wrung for every dime possible. Only buy this port if there is no one you know who can lend you a copy of the game and a PS3, and even then consider if it's actually worth giving Naughty Dog your money. I'm still not sure I should have bought this myself, considering that money is only reinforcing their conviction that video game preservation is for poor idiots. Hopefully emulation of the original becomes possible eventually, then you can just buy a disk, load the data onto your computer, and play the better one...
Back in June 2013 when the game originally released I was 12 years old, I didn't own a PlayStation so the only way I got to enjoy this game was by watching people play it on YouTube. Today it is July 8th 2026, a little after 2AM. It is my 26th birthday and I have finally played through this masterpiece. I've enjoyed it and I felt like I was back in 2013 seeing this game on YouTube for the first time. To say this game is a masterpiece would be to sell it short.

Bought a game about zombies, left with emotional damage. I thought I knew what was coming because the internet has talked about this game for years. Didn't matter. The characters feel so real that by the end I just sat there staring at the credits wondering why I do this to myself. Gameplay is solid, the atmosphere is incredible, and the performances carry every single scene. It's one of those games you wish you could experience for the first time again... even though you know it's going to ruin your mood. 10/10. Would emotionally destroy myself again.
To anyone buying this game and trying to avoid spoilers like I am, this game is truly mentality hard to play, If you have played GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 like I have thinking you've played the most mature games around and you can handle this, you're wrong. This game contains more upsetting things within the first 10 minutes of game play, than any rockstar game. This game is insanely well made and thought out, with fun, yet gore oriented gunplay. Proceed with caution and enjoy. Oh and btw if you have at least my specs or better with AMD FSR 3, your performance will be fine.
Visually breathtaking with phenomenal mechanics and a fantastic story. A must play masterpiece.100/10.
Her şey güzel de geçmiyor geçmişin izleri, Uykumdan eder soğukluğun, yanım kabullenir.
Singleplayer
It was the winter of 2015, I just got graduated from high school and had a spare year before uni, had no games, lots of time and a PS4. After hearing about a lot, I finally bought The Last of Us: Remastered and started playing. I was playing from a bit far to my TV, and being young and not played lots of games, my brain wasn't registering much from the game, I thought a man and dark haired girl was together not a blonde haired girl. Joel, Ellie, Tommy, Bill, to me it was a game with story. I finished the game and it was great and I knew I loved it, I didnt know why. Everything happened so fast and every second was full and engaging.
After years I finished it for the second time, that's where it hit me, it was one of the best games I've played.
At my third finish, I was totally hooked, I finally got it. The sad music starting as camera pans slowly and Joel and Tess goes through the door from right was made by developers, everything was calculated, every frame was perfect, you and I could do a different playthroughs and both of them could be a movie anyone can watch and like. The Last of Us 1 is a game that completed it's vision completely, the developers had some abstract concept on their minds and they achieved that to the fullest, and probably wanted to add many things but couldnt, which is a thing most of the great games have, they get filled to max and still u wanna add somethings but they got cut off, not the other way around.
usa is a great country for a zombie apocalypse
, you can't do this on many other countries, Joel and Ellie goes through many different faunas and game makes you ask the most important question in story writing, all the time: What's going to happen next? And city by city we get close to our goal, we know more about joel and ellie, cutscenes are better than most movies Ive watched. And in this journey, Gustavo Santaolalla walks with us with his 'tar. Every song is perfect, fits to the themes and progression flawlessly. Santaolalla achieves the same thing in second game too as soundtrack fits the second game, it's all over the place, meaningless, has no aim, has no progression, it's too large and doesnt know where to go. I dont wanna compare but second game lacks this, second game is a parody of itself, it is too big and cant stand on it's legs, I dont care about Joel Ellie or Abby in the second game, it's a cycle within cycle, chasing Ellie to Abby to Ellie, in first game we are going through the country and see the relationship grow between Joel and Ellie and underneath that we are trying to save the world. The Last Of Us 1, like a great relationship, takes us to the lowest and highest, we wrestle the game and story and in the end it hits the crescendo, and resolves itself beautifully, in the last scene Ellie says Okay and The Path starts playing, as it is playing right now.
Multiplayer - For console ps3-ps4 version
Just like singleplayer multiplayer is visceral, bloody. It needs teamwork, and it's so much fun, I got not much to say but my 200 hours of gameplays 150 hour is multiplayer. Just like the story in TLOU2 they botched multiplayer too by not adding it, all they had to do was add improved multiplayer mode and put an in app store and get rich. Multi makes me wanna live in that universe like its an MMORPG, where I gather resources for my town and live in a zombie apocalypsed united states. Gather stuff and kill zombies. An absolutely failure of a DLC, needs harder combat and dynamic ammo drop sucks, a bit weak conclusion, but IN THE END TLOU1 is the only 10/10 game Ive played in my life. Not just that, also one of the finest piece of artworks Ive ever interacted with. My 100th platinum was TLOU Part 1 on PS5 and 100th review is also for TLOU Part 1. The last of us can get 5 more games, but it's not a series, it is not written as a series like LOTR but written as 1 work as Dune's first book, so to me it will always be a one game and in that, until I do better, the greatest one.
