About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Fun
Great atmosphere from the jump the first town creates great world building and plenty of fun beginner quests. The only obvious things I would say is the game NEEDS to be optimized it seems to chill out after playing a while but the game cooks my gpu on medium at 1080p. The only feature I'd love to see is being able to mark the map and name custom markers. Would be great for marking the starter houses so you dont have to search around for them. I have more faith in this dev team making improvements steadily than Bethesda with any of their modern games.

game is already awesome, i got a few ideas. i think you should make a fog around the map and where you have been it clears the fog on the map. just so you know where you've been. also got a few bugs already but so far so good!!!
best game of all time
Dark fantasy meets a mesh of Oblivion / Morrowind. Have been enjoying the game with friends wanted to support the game by leaving a good review. Will do an in depth review when completed. We have been playing and there is so much depth here Thank you for all your hard work devs.
There is Freg and I think everyone needs a Freg in their life
Lantern of the Laughless Saint is clearly built with a love of the fantasy genre from years past. Don't let the graphics turn you away! This game will draw you in and want to make you explore, level and finish quests. It draws from Dark Souls, Everquest, Runescape, and Elder Scrolls yer somehow becomes it's own game. I am caught in its charm and gameplay and have been playing far more than I expected.
10/10 Game! Feels so much like Morrowind!
Been having such a fun time with this game. Even more so after a playthrough of Morrowind. If you like any elder scrolls games. I would recommend to try this. Or even Try this with a friend with Co-op. yes it's early access but since release there has been quite a few updates and I can not wait for more updates. Plus the dev has been in contact with the community via social media and discord. Thank you NerveLabs. I can't wait for it to be finished and can't wait for the Holy Fool!
