King's bird is an awesome game and i think way more people should play it. If it had an explorable world and or more memorable level design this would be an instant classic, but even as it stands the mechanics for movement are so inspired and good I think people are missing out not knowing about it. in general i think the levels are well designed as speedrun challenges, which they are, but the collectibles feel more like they detract from the run rather than teach the player mechanics or hint at speedrun routing Furthermore, the level design seems a bit clunky. The levels do seem like they have intended pathing, but it doesn't feel like a level with a beginning middle and end in the way you'd expect it to. There's no clear progression to the intention or relation between the things being asked. There's always a theme, but it's hard to consider that sufficient when the theme isn't explored more (for longer, maybe? would be nice if the levels had clear relations between each other as well.) Everything feels weirdly disconnected and that's probably my biggest criticism with the game although I do want to love it (and I do like it) This game went a lot deeper into its mechanics than I thought it would. The last area and the last two levels really made me rethink my opinion of the level design, it's actually pretty good once you get to that point. The final platforming in particular is very memorable, I love it. Making you replay it for the achievement was inspired. I wont claim that fixed all of my issues, obviously. Taking this long to get to more memorable levels is hard. That said, I'll argue that the game's difficulty of access actually plays in its favour here, since it has basically 100% retention past the second area. Anyone who gets past that first impression finds a truly wonderful experience with freeing mechanics that make you want for more, that make you want to share this game with people you know and have them master the mechanics as well. There are some slight issues, though. The gameplay is too granular at times, depending on the exact angles you hold at different times you can build or lose greatly varying amounts of speed, which can make it difficult to understand what exactly is holding you back from completing a level. Overall though it's definitely a very solid game, I'll rate it highly at a 7 or 7.5, half a point below Hollow Knight which I consider fundamentally flawless. It's extremely fun just to play with the mechanics though, even if the levels were just a random set of walls ceilings and floor that stretched out infinitely, it would be really fun and satisfying to navigate it. The core of the game is just that strong.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 3 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Solid platformer for the price, quite fun.
This game offered so much and for 75% of the game was OK until it randomly removed my progress and made me play through each intro every time I loaded. Total garbage. With this game having no dialogue it made it even more confusing when this happened. Also the final fight made no sense to player progression. Developing a game needs to take a player on a journey not introduce a random event at the end just because you couldn't figure out how to end it properly. For this reason it gets a thumbs down and buyer beware. I have played 1,000s of games and can honestly say this is in the bottom 20 easy.
Very fun and cozy little game. The controls fell SO good. Don't listen anyone calling it junky, you just have to get used to them and the game is teaching you to handle them better, from level to level. It just feels grand soring through its graphics. I recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge and is into 2d platform. I don't like a lot of games of this genre (I mean the high momentum 2d platforming), but this I loved.
