Funny little idle game.
Lazy Galaxy 1 is a good game, it was fun but too short for an idle game. I think I got 100% achievements in that game in a couple of days. This one, Lazy Galaxy 2, is boringly slow to progress. It's bad when you come back after a day of offline resource gathering, and you still can't make any progress. I wish these developers could take the fun of Lazy Galaxy 1 and just stretch it out through hundreds of hours like good idle games (ie. Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, Adventure Capitalist) do. This sequel sure doesn't satisfy.
Fun game that definitely soaked up my hours for a bit. It's a true idler, you literally can just let it sit and forever generate even at low levels. That said, I'm not quite convinced the math maths. It's a basic system of ascension gifting tokens that you can spend and gain buffs, or keep and gain production points. If you spend them, they don't increase production. If you WANT to spend them, the cost is insanely high. When you ascend it tells you: "Doing this now will gift you x candies and give you x% increased production. Like "This will give you 4 billion candies and increase production by 105Qa%" I ascend. I get 100 million candies and 200million % increase... it's like there is a disconnect between the Ascend buttons prediction and what actually happens. Based on the button I should have been generation a quadrillion% more, which would make some of the later prices reasonable, but.. nope. So I got to the point where I conquered the galaxy and just let it go, since there is no way I was going to generate 6 Sx metal and experience to upgrade a ship or a base one level. So with that bit of annoyance out of the way, it's still a recommended game. It's a chill game where you can choose to be an active player or inactive, there are ascension skills that let you generate 20% offline which I'll be checking in a few weeks to see if I'm finally at a level where I can spend a single point and upgrade and check the next level of items/skills/generation. There are cooking recipes that I still don't quite understand as I feel like they didn't really do anything, so I assume I was supposed to feed them somewhere? No idea. The explanations are REALLY not there for a lot of stuff until after you've been using them. There is a cool little system between builds where they work together to increase production, different rules to that which can make the building system a bit fun, but those are also unlocks. Achievements for a large part are very easily accomplished, though some feel like RNG such as ending a battle with no ships on either side. And the battles themselves are a mix of fun and frustration. The active part of the battles can be fun, but I personally did not like the Swarm. And after a bit the battles got kind of frustrating and boring. I'd LOVE an auto-battle system where it just ends it early if you are destroying the levels in a single hit. I am, however, thankful that the dev put in so the battle remembers where it left off. If you die at battle 19 and go back in - you continue at level 19. That's a serious time saver. All in all, there is a lot of care put into this game, and a lot of considerations. It's a great example of a decent little game and an idler. Heavily recommended.
I shouldn't be allowed to to play these games. It gets way into my head and we quickly go to a weird space where my kids are asking why I spent an hour clicking rocks...But they're not rocks, they're asteroids and daddy needs 100qa metal for his upgrades to move energy production 1.5x higher to I can make more fuel so I can conquer a planet so I can reset and get more candy...Like I said, a weird place. Fun idle game.
Great game, funny writing, super cheap. I love the all synergies, and the extra challenges you unlock later are interesting. Clicking asteroids and ship combat keeps the gameplay pretty active for an idle game. I finished around 300+ hours, and that's from using an autoclicker and seriously min-maxing, So you get a lot of playtime for what you spend. Downsides: Could cause RSI from clicking if you don't use an autoclicker; and it could do with some QoL tweaks, like showing when a building can be upgraded. The music can get a bit repetitive too, but you can just mute it. Overall I still definitely recommend this.
Not too idle, not too much work. Good balance, and has... not modes exactly, but upgrade trees that allow you to pick your poison from ascension to ascension. The art is very nice. Good idle game!
I'm a gamedev myself, and that's what I think
Worth highlighting (what is unique)

* I like cooking mechanics. You can get lunchboxes with random ingredients (they give various bonuses), and you can combine them to make even stronger bonuses. These ingredients are saved across prestiges, so you can accumulate them. * Choosing which planets to conquer. For instance, you can go for more land to build more income if you're planning to have a long run or go for more lunchboxes if you want a quick one. Implementation is weak, but I like the idea.
Overall rating 2/10

To be honest, the game is very boring with very little depth in it The first impression is great, but after the first ascension (prestige), you understand how little it can offer and how repetitive it is The biggest problem: poor prestige system Upgrades are very insignificant; usually it's small QOL features like “You can buy all upgrades with 1 mouse click.” Sure, cool, but there are only 30 upgrades in the game, and I'm playing clicker, so it's not a big deal to click 30 times It's not even automatic upgrades purchasing And whole prestige system looks like this Moreover, memorizing. In this game you have things you must explore/memorize. I'm playing Clicker; I don't want to memorize stuff or open guides. :D Overall, it would have been better to be a small clicker game for 3 hours of playtime than artificially trying to prolong the gameplay. Really unsable, especially when you reach high numbers like Nonillions or Decillions. My game crashed several times through normal playing, even with a nice config. Pass.
Lazy Galaxy 2 is a fun and addictive idle strategy game where you conquer galaxies, upgrade your ships, and discover new technologies. In short, it’s a relaxed yet clever gaming experience.
For a game called Lazy Galaxy, it requires you to be surprisingly active in order to make any meaningful progression. In spite of that though, it's still worth dedicating 1/10 of your attention to. If you're looking for one of these games, this isn't a bad choice!
