I am bottom lining this review.... it is awful! Just awful! The graphics are faded and the SFX voice overs echo; gameplay is jolted... nope, not even worth a CC, sorry. I don't recommend this game.
Definitely worth it to get the game if it's on sale. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend paying full price. It's a rather short HOG that wraps up its story fairly quickly. For a reasonable price, it's a nice game to play through because it's at *least* playable. But for $6, I wouldn't recommend it. It has its own little technical issues, like a black loading screen popping up every time you change locations, withdraw from a Hidden Object scene, etc. The cut to these is always sharp and lags the game play slightly. Sometimes the volume is out of control with the voices and background noises (one scene has a REALLY LOUD creaking light that constantly repeats, and nearly every rusted door you open makes the same, loud groan). Not to mention how big the map gets as you progress through the game, and you are unable to jump locations. You physically have to travel room-by-room, and that can get exhausting with the loading screens. Then there comes the issue with the Hidden Object scenes themselves - these are exceptionally hard to play because it includes finding very thin objects, like pins and tiny designs. Sometimes the lighting/coloring of the scenes make some things impossible to catch, and includes a million of various things lying about that get in the way of finding them. Definitely not something to play just for the Hidden Object scenes. Otherwise, the game takes an interesting stab at The Great Gatsby source. It wraps up the story of the novel fairly quickly, and it's an intriguing take to what Gatsby's mansion would've looked like. You visit locations that are callbacks to the book, and I'd say it does a decent job respecting the original story. However, I should mention the voice acting could've been performed much better - some lines are delivered without any emotion at all. But the art is actually very well-done, especially in the cutscenes. I wouldn't play the game for its story if you had already read the book, but possibly for how well the art is done. Again, it has its technical issues that I wouldn't recommend paying full-price for, but at a discounted price, I think it's worth the 2-hour playtime. I'd very much prefer more realistic HOGs like these, that don't include magic or dragons or fairy tales. It's a great break from the typical 'fantasy' genre most HOGs are set in, but isn't anything groundbreaking.
Interesting story. Not very challenging. The final puzzle stumped me though. It could have used a little better explanation. So I just clicked around until I finally got it. You are supposed to make the gems shine when they match up in the right positions. The map does not have fast travel so there is backtracking. Sadly pretty short. It is a little clunky but I wouldn't let that stop you if you like HOGs.
The game itself would not have been bad had it not had long loading times in between locations and a general malaise when clicking on things. It feels like every time you click on something, it takes a second to respond. No it's not a hardware issue. I could run 20 of this game on the machine I have. There is a lot of backtracking for no apparent reason. There IS a map, but no fast travel. So you can see where you need to go, but have to shlep it on foot in real time. And I do mean real time based on the time it takes to load. The sound effects are often annoying. Get ready to turn down your volume when you do the swimming pool drain puzzle. I'm not sure what plumbing is like where they're from; but any pipe that sounds like that could be potentially dangerous and/or life threatening! But the real reason I downgraded this game is because the entire premise was flawed. The game is called "Gatsby's Secret Treasure." The "treasure" is so lame as to be almost non-existent. We are told throughout the game how rich Gatsby was. And then we discover the treasure is not really even treasure. I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying it's a piece of cheap jewelry that could not have been worth much based on where it came from. We are told Gatsby purchased this jewelry BEFORE he made his millions. The jewelry itself looked ridiculously cheap. Little better than costume jewelry. Sure it's the thought that counts. However, considering it was never given to its intended recipient (Daisy), Gatsby obviously knew it was a disgraceful showing too. Or at least that the woman he loved was a materialistic skeeze. And we are being asked to believe there is an entire conspiracy involving murder of at least one person just to retrieve this secret treasure. Perhaps it's the developers that have low standards when it comes to what constitutes treasure. At the end, our heroine gets engaged. We see a snapshot of her engagement ring, which has a stone that you'd need 10 magnifying glasses to even see. Of course the voice actress sounded overjoyed at the prospect. This was the most emotion we got from her the entire game. I thought maybe it might be a computerized voice, but she managed to wring out some inflection in her voice at the end so I'm not sure. This woman is so devoid of charisma that it would have been preferable not to have any voiceovers in the game. Her emotions are often inappropriate based on the action in the game. Most of the time she sounds half asleep except for when she is held at gunpoint. Then she sounds mildly amused. This game was just on the edge of being halfway decent. Had the developers had a bit more imagination and a bit better ear for voice actors, it might have been a win.

Very good and interesting game. Samantha saa pomolta käskyn tehdä juttu Great Gatsbystä joten neito lähtee pitkälle automatkalle. Suosittelen.
I played so many hidden object games and this one is a bad one. Story easy, puzzles easy, objects easy... Some of these games I have worked so many minutes for finding one object. This game... so easy. Voice acting horrible. Developers should watch some porn movies. They have better acting. 108 minutes to %100 complete. I have to go bathroom for 20 min btw. If you played and liked hidden object games. This is not a good one.
I truely did love the game mechanics and puzzles that this game had. The only thing that disappointed me was the whole plot of the story. It did have key elements of Gatsby original story but it felt like it skip some important parts that I loved from the book.
Nice story, very easy game, quite good music but only about 3 hours. Try to get it on sales :-)
Too clunky
