I cannot in good faith recommend this. There's 3 pay walls to overcome to actually play everything; You must first purchase the game, you must then purchase an ESO Plus membership, and to avoid including expansions in that ESO+ membership, they've called them 'Chapters', which also require money. Screw these predatory tactics, people should know that you need to pay multiple times and that the ESO+ only does what it says on the tin from a legal, technical standpoint. Morally and ethically, they're tying to squeeze as much money from you as they can whilst using technical speech to avoid legal obligations. The game is also full of microtransactions, so a 4th layer of money scraping. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FANTASTIC, it is not.
Merlin started as a low level wizard, and had much optimism stepping into a new land. I tried to join my companions, and I was halted by a wall. This was no ordinary wall, it must be a spell of some kind. As I pass through these walls, it dissolved all my gold from my pockets. Merlin was left with no hope, and no home. Merlin disapproves of this world, and whoever created it.
Steam版では「The Elder Scrolls Online: Standard Edition」を購入。
Over the course of the years I've played, left and replayed many mmorpg. ESO is one of the few that makes me come back especially with the latest updates, it feels as if its consistently getting better. As a person who's only played Skyrim and knows about the rest of games from oblivion npc memes, I wasn't sure if I'd like it. After all how can I connect with something I don't have much knowledge of? That wasn't the case however. PROS: ~Expansive rich universe ~Fun fluid combat ~While not as impressive as other more recent mmo the graphics are easy on the eyes. ~Tons of interesting questlines. ~Freedom of exploration because of the lvl scaling. ~Relatively cheap if you find it on sale. ~Active and friendly playerbase. CONS(just one but it's a big one): ~Inventory, sometimes it feels like they're forcing you to buy the subscription just for the inventory craft bag and the extra space. For a game that is buy to play for the base and its expansions this feels somewhat cheap. The subscription does unlock the dlc tho if you'd prefer to buy the base and subscribe for the rest, but I'm a busy person and maybe I'll play 6 days per month so it's not worth it for me. Kinda makes you wish there were more ways to expand inventory because inventory management is the true endgame.
Loved this game for all it's flaws (an MMO will MMO of course) but Microsoft Firing half the Team after shifting to seasonal content is horrendious, and just proving they do not care for the IP's and games they purchased, don't recomend until ZOS is heavily compensated or freed from their stupid choices in the name of Money.
Never played it for the longest time because of all the negative reviews, tried it to spend time with a friend, love it now. Attached. And suddenly this stupid Xbox layoff cutting half the studio's support. Come on, ♥♥♥♥ off. I'm having fun. Stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the game. Just as the team had begun to pick their ♥♥♥♥ up and turn things around, too. Recent content had been amazing. Amazing how it actually made me want to spend money on it now that it didn't feel forced to do so.
Microslop just laid off half of the developers. The game is on life support from now on and how long it will be alive is uncertain. I do not recommend anyone picking it up it its current state.
Slashing half the staff of the studio as the game is not only doing amazing, but having a large resurgance of players is basically Microsoft sabotaging this game. Content is being delayed, employees lives are in shambles, and those who are left are going to struggle to keep the quality and pacing that fans have been excited for. Cancelled my ESO Plus subscription and quit today. Sorry to the staff left at ZOS, but Microsoft's greed isn't something I can support.
This is a hard one to write. After recent corporate decisions, I cannot urge people to purchase a game I have spent more than a real life year of my life in. I was planning on buying the latest tome. I was excited for the future. I was excited for what this game could become. Now? I don't see how it has a future, and you're honestly better off starting fresh with any other experience if you have the choice.
