Reviews
This game could be salvaged but the publisher is being lazy with skill books and rng gacha, plus the story is easily skipped for no reason to get players high level. Non of the side quests give any currency either. Just streamline the levels to endgame, then pull out your credit card and swipe kind of game.
The worst-managed, most beautiful MMO of all time
Nothing like the original just a money grabbing game

I tried, really I tried, but the boringness won, the generic cashgrab feeling won. You can try but I don't recommend.
This game rocks man. Not sure why this gets so much hate. There is a story that is pretty good. The fighting mechanics are not to bad either. I don't believe there is any auto attacking. Full customization of armor and weapons, so not a skin game. Which I hate by the way. You can hover, probably fly, have not got that far. Decent amount of players seem to be on and the graphics are pretty good. These are from the same people who made Guild Wars, and AION 2, so solid foundation there. Its a fun and solid game and with the way MMO,s are these days, it has stood up to the test of time. Constant updates. Have not even ran into any toxic or annoying players, which is hard to believe because they seem to love standing at beginner areas and doing what they do best, which is being horrible and trying to recruit all the attention loving people like themselves to their band of misfits. So 8.5/10 game here in my opinion so far.
This game had potential, but it fails miserably with the one point that the original version nailed, that being the combat. Back in 2016, you would pick which of 2-3 skills you would use, they later split it up so every class had 2 specializations, honing you into one particular element, and some skills had 3 different versions you could pick from, most often, it was 1 for PvP, 1 for DPS, and 1 for utility. They later removed the elemental stat making it easier to change specs (minus mystic badges that were specific to one specialization) and finally they removed the ability to pick skills, you pick a spec and the skills are set, making mystic badges the main way of changing the playstyle of a spec. Until they removed the ability to change skills, you could buy a second spec slot, so you could quickly switch between PvP specs, or between elements, even if switching specs and skills were free and could be done at any time out of combat, at least since they added elemental specs (it may have costed some silver/gold to respec in the beginning), which is my personal favourite iteration. NEO on the other hand, removed the ability to pick between skills at any time and removed the specs, instead locking that behind skill books that you "bind" to one accessory, you can extract it, but it cost far too much, these books as far as I've played (level 48) are hard to come by, buying one skill book cost 400 valor stones, almost being done with the story, I only have 300, and the book you get is random, Other than buying a random skillbook for valor stones, The only skill books i've seen are the ones I've gotten from the story, I don't dare using the books, since I have to destroy another book to get it back, and if I get a better accessory, I have to unequip the skills to move it to the new accessory, making it expensive to upgrade accessories if you actaully use books, but the default skills for at least Blade Dancer, doesn't give you a complete spec at all, that requires skill books, and I haven't gotten the skills needed for a complete spec even with those. Because of this, the combat haven't evolved much at all since level 20, and that combat is severely downgraded from every version the original have had because I don't have the F skill for draw stance, nor the skill for the wind spec. Aside from that, they have a new class that is unique to NEO, while holding back the new classes released over the years in the original... I get the decision, NEO is basicallly Blade and Soul Classic, and with the messed up skill system, it would require a lot of changes to make each class equally bad without skill books, but it is still annoying that they release the classes over time... and it seems it takes a very long time for each class, at this point, soul fighter had already been released. The leveling is streamlined, it is significantly more enjoyable than the original, which took like 5 times as long to complete at this point in the game, but with the skills being so bad, it is very monotone. They removed the stamina so you can run however long you want, they haven't removed this in the original to this day, you just increase the cap. I have nothing to say about microtransactions, I've never even looked at the RM store, but if it is anything like the original, it is bad. In the end, NEO had potential to be a nostalgic classic version of BNS that old players could've returned to, but the ruined combat/skills makes it a slap in the face. For both new and old payers, I'd recommend the original version over this mess, it's been over a year and the game is in this state, and the only real upgrades from the original is the removed stamina and a less cluttered UI.
