An interesting game about dragons with the ability to use many variations of builds on them. Upgrading is done by clearing locations. The game is not loaded with a lot of actions - just manage the amount of resources, invest and upgrading dragons not bad
This is, like, as close as you can get to an idle game without being an actual idle game — but I appreciate colorful dragons and the game is cheap. okay? It's just a game of grinding numbers, with the math being bearable (meaning you don't need to waste too much time to get a new egg). The dungeons are honesly fun, and I wish the game had more actual gameplay demanding synergies, skill choices, and the likes. As it is, you'll spend most of it assigning dragons to various locations to bring home loot to make numbers go brrr. But, again. Colorful dragons. The art looks AI-generated. I'm not proud. I like creature collection, what can I say.
The Dragonhood seamlessly merges the tactical intricacies of turn-based RPGs with the effortless appeal of clicker mechanics. Each decision you make profoundly impacts your dragon's destiny, while the freedom to construct personalized builds adds a strategic dimension. As a devoted RPG player, I was utterly enthralled from beginning to end. The game transcends mere entertainment, cultivating a genuine bond with your dragon. It's a captivating, multifaceted adventure that delivers a fulfilling sense of advancement.
The game is very grindy. While many reviews call it a clicker game, I disagree. You're not clicking to hatch eggs or watch satisfying numbers go up — instead, most of your time is spent clicking through repetitive menus just to assign dragons to missions. You have to manually select each dragon for every mission, confirm the assignment, and then confirm the results. There's no “send all” option, no way to repeat previous assignments, and very limited sorting — only by “wounded,” “favorite,” or “rarity.” You can’t sort by level, type, name, or other stats, which becomes more frustrating the more dragons you have, especially when they’re all at different levels. The day system adds to the frustration. After assigning all your dragons, you still have to manually confirm that the day is over — even when there’s nothing else to do. It feels like a pointless delay in an already slow-paced, grind-heavy game. Upgrades are limited. You can increase your daily stamina, click damage, income, and a general bonus for your dragons, but that’s about it. Dragons can evolve up to Ascension 4, after which they must be reset — which is costly. Most dragons have two evolution paths, but each path has only three upgrades, and you’re locked into that path with no crossover. Dungeon mechanics initially seemed promising — finally something new! But they ended up being even more restrictive. You’re locked into the dungeon until you either win or forfeit, and gameplay feels just as repetitive as the main mission loop. This was never going to be a game with epic battles or zero grinding, but even within its genre, it lacks variety. There are no events — just a rotating set of repeatable quests. And then there's inflation. Prices in the store rise over time no matter what you do. You’re told to sell items to counteract it, but it doesn’t actually make a meaningful difference. There are no duplicate eggs, so you can only hatch one of each dragon. That means you’re permanently locked into whichever evolution path you chose, with no way to try the other. You also can't buy meat to level up your dragons or gear for them directly. Instead, there are two types of random currencies that limit how often you can explore or refine equipment unless you spend more gold. Speaking of gear, the refinement system feels overly punishing. It reminds me of gacha games where you combine items — in this case, three amulets — to make a new one of the same type. But the outcome is randomized. You could combine three 50% amulets and get a result that’s only 2% quality... or maybe 90%. I wish the system let you combine their quality scores directly, since amulet drops are pretty rare.
Mixed review: + Core game loop is good + Nice skill/amulet solo and party balance – Uncomfortable user interface – No tutorial Total 3.5 / 5. Give it a shot if you like autobattlers and / or dragons ^__^
the game looks cool, the graphics are good, I don't really like these kinds of games, but if you like this genre, then I recommend it
Great game with quiet a lot of mechanics. You unlock them slowly, so you dont get overwhelmed by everything. some things could be explained a little better, but it only takes a few moments and some reading to grasp the basics, then trial and error! A possible respec (rare?) or dulicate eggs might be nice for someone that wants to collect ALL kinds of dragons, though! :P
