My rating: 9.5/10 Pros: - Casual game, no commitment, play at your own leisure, no pressure - Very good strategic game, build your troop and defeat the enemies - Definitely replayable even after completing all the levels, you will never get tired of it - Very fun, tons of mods are already available and you can even make one on your own with just minimal programming knowledge Cons: - No English translation - No storyline, not like it matters though Would definitely suggest the developer to add in English translation for this game. You should give this game a go if you like old rpg style games with minimalist action animations. I am a fan of legend of zelda, harvest moon, pokemon and legend of heroes. This is a good mini game for you to spend 1-2 hours to wind off or satisfy your game craving from time to time. You need simplified Chinese to change language to English. Only some of the texts are translated to English and the UI wasn't adjusted for English. Boxes overlaps with each other because English words are longer than Chinese symbols. The gameplay looks fun but learning curve is steep at the start of the game. I mean you need to hover an icon and read the explanation more than 50 times to understand the game.
I Wish this was in English and the mods too, it has somuch potential, but the language barrier hold the game back.
This is a very niche game, with an incomplete english translation. It's a player vs computer auto chess sort of thing, with upgrades that carry over between runs. Normally I wouldn't bother, but they recently added a lot more to the english translation to where it's now playable, after they said they weren't interested in doing so. I don't recommend it to the majority, but I'm having fun with it, and this is my thanks for the translation.
The translation is incomplete. For example, you'll get items and they have some Chinese sentences with numbers mixed in as their effects. Or entire trees of units are untranslated. This, for a non-Chinese speaker, makes the game less enjoyable. Not knowing what the effects of items/units are makes it more difficult to strategize. I also ran into a bug where at the final battle of the run (I presume it was a special fight anyhow) the game just froze. I think there was maybe a loop which never ended in the code. Or it was waiting for something to happen which never happened. And Windows just made the window grayed out and unresponsive. If you know Chinese, this is an affordable and enjoyable experience! Pretty minimalistic and doesn't have that much depth, but not a bad game. However, due to the bug & the incomplete translation, I'll have to thumbs this down.
It's something like a card based version of DoTA / League of Legends. You have a hero hierarchy in play, and get to select a few basic DNA cards, and when you get 3 of a kind, you can merge 3 level 1 cards into a level 2 card, and when you get 3 level 2 cards, you can get the level 3 cards, which are the ultimate cards in the game. Here are the following attributes of each race : Human Males : receive defense and magic defense buffs and share buffs with friendly cards Human Females : receive +30% attack speeds Mages : Bonus magic damage Snail DNA : High Defense / Magic Defense Undeads DNA : Deal AoE poison dmg and fire dmg, with 1 free resurrect Treefolk DNA : Deal AoE poison dmg and fire dmg, some picks heal 2% HP within 1 tile radius every 2 secs Dragon DNA : Deal high magic dmg and usually have some spell dmg resistance Genie DNA : Deal high magic dmg and ultimates usually have high magic AoE abilities Beastfolk DNA : Bleeding dmg inflicted, some of them have AoE bleeding abilities You will fail a lot in this game, there is no storyline nor plot progression, to keep you interested. But it doesn't matter, the whole idea is for a quick 'round' whereby you keep forming combos that work, and you get tougher enemies, so you have to always figure out who you want to battle to get to the next stage. For every round you battle and win, you will receive both cash and additional cards for you to form combos and merge with, so you need to be focused on the sort of stack you want to build, Every few rounds there will be 'rest' rounds for you to sort your stacks out, you can 'sell' off cards that you are not interested in stacking, get some cash, and then usually after the resting rounds, you can visit the merchant to buy both cards you want, and items. There are 34 items in the game (more might come later), some give additional health to your cards, some increase physical attack or magic attack, some increase defense or magic defense, some items grant you immunity against spells or even dodging capabilities, some increase attack speed, some give life leech, some give spell vamp, some give higher critical strikes, some increase critical strike damage, some grant AoE damage, or trigger effects like burn damage over time, frost bite, AoE enemy attack speed reduction, AoE friendly troop movement speed, some even grant free 1 time resurrection, so on and so forth. If you have played DoTA or League of Legends before, you will recognise similarities due to items similar to Butterfly, Buriza, Heart of Tarrasque, Monkey King Bar, WarMog, etc As you play on, the game rewards you with some points. These points can be used to buy global passive abilities like increased gold per round won, increased healing at the end of every round, bonus physical dmg / magic dmg / physical defense / magic defense, advancements in burn / freeze / poison / bleeding dmg, even advancements in friendly buffs like increased attack speed, or increased healing effects during combat rounds. The replayability lies in the power to customise how you want to play. You can get pretty far regardless of choosing to make strengths stronger, or mitigating weaknesses. Try it ! Need to ask the game developers to have a language selection option to toggle to other languages. Pretty fun game ! And they have global rankings too. Check it out !
I love this game, but I wish they bothered finishing the translation or made it accessible for the community to fix their incomplete work. I periodically launch the game up, enjoy myself, get frustrated at the poor translation and incomplete work, try to figure out how to fix it myself, can't, and leave it for a few months. If it was a poor but complete translation I would be more accepting, but... It's not.
This game is a fun auto battler ala TFT and Dota Underlords. If you've not played one of them before, they're free, and you should give them a try first -- as this game has no tutorial, and you're thrown in the deep end of the pool. If, on the other hand, you've played auto battlers, enjoy them, and want to try out a single player 'campaign' version of one, at a reasonable price, this is the one. The game features some untranslated or poorly translated parts to it, and has graphical bugs introduced by expanding some words out to 25 English characters where it was clearly expecting 6 Chinese characters, but all the names of creatures, stats, and other key points are understandable. For just a few dollars, this game packs a lot of interesting decisions in, and is just plain fun to play. If you like auto battlers, check this out -- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
The claimed English translation is absolutely trash. You get some buttons, some screen titles, and some other text is translated. But almost everywhere, the original Chinese text is displayed. Making the game a guessing game. Very little idea what anything does, and can't ask because I don't have a chinese keyboard, and can't even look up the characters to get a translation. If you are literate in whichever version of Chinese is used, I'm sure its a decent game. But as it was advertised as having full English translation, this is unacceptably bad. Hard Pass.
