The Bibites: Digital Life

It is a very good simulation. Although it is only single cpu core which will just burn out my cpu if i use a high effort simulation. I will buy once again once it gets multithreading capabilities.

For fans of evolutionary biology, it’s an excellent simulation.

the simulation is more or less bland and uninteresting for those not interested in playing Crispr simulator. If you're wanting to open a world and let it run without any modifications to its ecosystem? You might as well buy another project as this title currently seems to be in a state of instability internally. I've in my time playing experienced 0 behaviors that function as intended or shown in any video covering the project. I've let multiple worlds run for hours on end, hours and hours, just to return in the morning to find that my simulations reset back to basic and absolutely NO genetic progression was made, mass extinctions occur more than anything else and it ruins the viability of a passive petri dish that I view and watch, study. It feels boring and incomplete with most preset creatures given to the player simply just being the basic bibite behavior with a bit of extra speed, maybe it its a little meat (something you'll never evolve naturally on your own unless you modify or make your own bibite from scratch, nullifying the 'evolve' concept entirely, ruining what this project is before it even starts.) I've got a lot of love for this but given the time i've spent with it on steam and off, in my time playing before it was paid, i've never once seen anything ever happen that is more than just mass extinction and pheromone production with 0 use in any way. The project has potential but as of right now, you're getting very little out of it unless you hand make a bibite and I personally find that to go heavily against the nature of a passive evolution experience. Grid World is another title with the same issue, its a wonderful project but very little will ever happen making the money spent on it worth very little. I'd stick to the free version of this till the developer has updated the game more and the systems at play are capable of producing something that is not made by hand by you.

Amazingly complex and in-depth artificial life simulator that I expect will just get better as more features are added. If you were drawn to the cell stage of Spore, this is a game for you.

10/10 The Bibites is by far the best evolution simulator I have ever encountered. Almost all parts of the game are perfectly made, from the evolution itself to the very creatures themselves. Best of all, the game is still updating, and the simulation continues to grow more in-depth.

Let it run and come back to see results. Any freak can evolve under your watch or lack there of. Don't like it? Purge them. The world on a dish is yours to mold from over a microscope.

This simulator is something truly special. I honestly can’t remember the last time I got so deeply pulled into something. I’ve tried many different games and simulators over the years, but The Bibites feels different. There is something absolutely fascinating about watching these little creatures evolve, fail, adapt, and sometimes surprise you in ways you did not expect at all. It is not just a game you “play”. It feels like observing a small living system. This project deserves as much support as possible. It is already amazing, and I really hope it keeps growing, because there is nothing quite like it.
