Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 22 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Genre
Ein First Person Horror Adventure
Story
Gameplay

The game is a big nothing burger. I wouldn't say it's worth playing. The gameplay is bland, there is a random shooter section for some reason, the stealth was borderline frustrating and unintuitive. I was quite invested in the story, so I did finish it and read all(most) of the bits of lore, but the payoff was... dissapointing. Also the game fails to deliver in jumpscares and atmosphere.

To połączenie thrillera psychologicznego, horroru i kryminału, ale zamiast powtarzać klisze gatunku, gra splata dwie równoległe opowieści — jedną z końca XIX wieku i drugą z czasów współczesnych. W połączeniu z nastrojową muzyką i sugestywnymi dźwiękami gra tworzy doświadczenie intensywne, pełne emocji i narastającej grozy. Pozdrawiam.
The Beast Inside is a gripping psychological thriller that deftly blends historical mystery, survival horror, and first-person exploration into a deeply atmospheric and often terrifying experience. Developed by Illusion Ray Studio, the game stands out for its ambitious narrative structure, shifting perspectives, and a heavy emphasis on environmental storytelling. While it borrows familiar mechanics from other horror titles, it infuses them with enough narrative weight and visual polish to feel both fresh and haunting. At the center of the game is a dual narrative that spans more than a century. Players alternate between two protagonists: Adam, a CIA cryptanalyst in the Cold War era, and Nicolas, a troubled man from the 19th century whose journal Adam discovers in the attic of a recently inherited country house. This narrative device is more than just a clever storytelling trick—it creates a layered sense of dread as players experience both men's descent into madness, each haunted by secrets, conspiracies, and a supernatural presence that seems to transcend time. The transition between timelines is seamless and used effectively to keep tension high and the plot unraveling in surprising ways. Gameplay in The Beast Inside combines several genre staples: puzzle-solving, exploration, stealth, and occasional combat. One of the game's most notable strengths is its variety. The puzzles, often rooted in cryptography, ciphers, and environmental manipulation, are smartly designed and integrated naturally into the story. They rarely feel like obstacles placed for their own sake, and instead reinforce the feeling of uncovering a forgotten truth piece by piece. Meanwhile, the game’s stealth sections—especially those involving shadowy figures or hostile supernatural entities—can be genuinely nerve-wracking, thanks in part to strong sound design and well-timed jump scares. These moments are balanced by periods of slower-paced exploration that allow players to soak in the game's richly detailed environments. Visually, The Beast Inside is stunning, especially for an indie title. The game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and takes full advantage of the engine’s capabilities. The woods surrounding the house feel alive with rustling leaves and shifting light, and the dilapidated interiors are filled with subtle environmental storytelling—scattered documents, broken furniture, family portraits, and ominous notes all contribute to a sense of a place steeped in dark history. Lighting and shadows are used effectively not just for aesthetic appeal but to create suspense, and the visual transitions between timelines are consistently striking. The game’s attention to detail helps build immersion and makes the house and surrounding areas feel like real, lived-in spaces. Narratively, The Beast Inside treads a fine line between psychological horror and supernatural mystery. Adam’s storyline revolves around Cold War paranoia, secret codes, and betrayal, while Nicolas's tale is more gothic and traditional, involving familial curses, insanity, and a descent into personal darkness. These parallel arcs eventually converge in a way that’s both shocking and emotionally resonant. The writing, while occasionally melodramatic or uneven, does enough to sustain the tension and drive the player forward. Voice acting is competent, with Adam’s performance standing out as particularly strong, while Nicolas’s narration effectively conveys a sense of mental unraveling. The ending, depending on player choices, offers a few variations and wraps up the mystery in a satisfying (if slightly over-the-top) fashion. Sound design is another highlight. The creaking floorboards, distant whispers, sudden crashes, and eerie ambient score all contribute to a tense, immersive atmosphere. Audio cues are used smartly to signal danger or draw attention to certain clues, and the overall mix keeps players on edge without resorting to constant loud jump scares. The music swells at the right moments, enhancing emotional beats and ratcheting up suspense during high-stakes scenes. Even in quiet moments, there’s an undercurrent of dread thanks to the game’s consistent audio design. However, The Beast Inside is not without flaws. Some of the stealth sequences can be frustrating due to inconsistent AI behavior or trial-and-error design, which breaks immersion. The game occasionally leans too hard into clichés—especially in its depiction of mental illness and haunted house tropes—which may feel predictable to genre veterans. Additionally, while the puzzle mechanics are generally engaging, there are a few that can grind the pacing to a halt, especially if players miss a critical clue hidden in the environment. Despite these shortcomings, The Beast Inside succeeds at what it sets out to do: tell a chilling, well-paced horror story that bridges psychological and supernatural themes across time. Its dual-protagonist structure is executed with care and creativity, offering two distinct yet interconnected experiences that deepen the player’s engagement with the unfolding mystery. The balance of gameplay elements—puzzles, stealth, exploration, and light combat—keeps things dynamic, and the top-notch visuals and sound help create a world that feels both beautiful and terrifying. In conclusion, The Beast Inside is a highly atmospheric and narratively ambitious horror game that stands out in a crowded genre. With strong production values, a gripping story, and well-designed gameplay sequences, it delivers a memorable experience for fans of psychological thrillers and survival horror alike. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it polishes it to a gleam and rolls it down a dark, twisted path well worth following. Rating: 8/10
British, 2/10. The only thing that makes this game have the "violent" tag is the way i drag my mouse around when i have to break a plank which would've been done easier if the main character knew about pressure points. First 2 chapters were okay but on the third one i lost it, Quantum ♥♥♥♥? What the hell man. The protagonist gets scared of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HORSE sculpture thing, before talking like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scientist, makes no sense to me. The only adventure you do in this game, atleast from what i've played is going outside and inside your house, which if i wanted to do, i could've done it outside in real life, and it would've felt more adventurous. The only "quick time" event was me having to click left click 3 times (and it wasn't timed) so i could just stay with my arm ready to knock down the door forever. Not to mention the performance was ass, and i have an RX 6600 , so the game is just not optimized properly, most of the time i was getting 40-50 fps. I already think Outlast 2 is kinda bad but atleast with that one i got to hear some great voice acting from the enemies in the forest calling my name, but here it's just me and a british scout trying to sell me cookies, or something like that.
