Terrible story, annoying mechanics, they killed the servers which means to even play you need to jump through a few hoops, achievements don't work, customization doesn't work, arbitrarily gated progression. Ironic that the game about fighting against the corpo's is itself ruined by being a corpo product. Still looks pretty though
LOOK UP BEAT REVIVAL FOR ACHIEVMENT/ONLINE FIX ♥♥♥♥ ea, but the guys behind the beat revival project are the goats, like ive been so excited to finally play catalyst with online support and actually be able to earn achievments, you guys are awesome :)
Think the first mirrors edge except in an open world where you have to run back and forth on the same obstacles and objects to turn in missions and get new ones.... Comparing this to the original it feels like time sink padding. check out the first game it is timeless... idk if my game time is accurate... 1.5 hours but i did several missions where i had to back track.... back to "home base" to get another.... It just was bad...the entire experience was bad, the entire time i played I was just trying to give it the benefit of the doubt until I HAD to stop.
Screw this. Impossible to play on Linux. EA apparently needs to shove its launcher in a 10 year old game for some reason. Well, I know somewhere else they can shove it. If I find I way, I'll update the review.
EA App trash, my account was hijacked and there is literally no way to unlink it from my Steam account, because the E-Mail changed. Also this game sucks, hope they do a proper Mirror's Edge 2 based off of the original game some day. Better yet, sell the ip to someone who actually gives a ♥♥♥♥ and will do something good.
Very goated, story was downgrade compared to the first game but the parkour and animations were immaculate and it still holds up to this day, huge thanks to The Beat Revival project devs for bringing the online services back and basically fixing the game and achievements, EA sucks.
+ Original + good production quality + good plot + action and puzzle solving in first person Superb game. 10/10
I have very mixed feelings about this game... I appreciate the franchise, I love Faith and her character here, but the game's very unpolished in comparison to the original game in many aspects. The plot is anticlimatic, the abundance of characters makes a disservice because the rushed narration doesn't give you any opportunity to start sympathizing with them, plus it's very hard to be even thrilled by the events since music is calm most of the time when you're supposed to be nervous and feel the adrenaline pumping. As for the gameplay.. you can't feel like you're running anymore - i don't know whether it's because of the fixed camera, or weird body moves, or else - but it made me want to turn this game off and launch the original one from 2009... The only somewhat upside i can point out is the open world - it's beautiful. The game continued and leveled up the architecture of the prequel, although it ruined the runner's vision - the red color used to lure us and help to navigate, to feel like a high-speed predator on the roofs, and also suited the art direction, but now it's... lacking
this is hot baked garbage, I absolutely despise this. Its borderline unplayable, all good was removed and simplified for casuals that cant aim, time jumps or simlpy do anything unless it draws you exact pathways and snaps you onto everything in case you were too far. And you know what? They knew in 2008 that in the game about parkour reset to last chekpoint should take not more then coulpe seconds. Oh you fell because you were trying something interesting or exploring? get ready to sit thruog 20 sec loading screens. I mean this has it all, online services, bla bla bla. Have to turn off inet to even start it. I mean this is trash as it is defined in dictionary "primarily a noun for things you throw away because you do not want them." And its not nostalgia speaking. first part is better then i remember. IT held its vibe in 2026. I played this and first part back-to-back and i refuse to spend any more seconds in this g0dforsaken game
