The Ascent คือเกมแอ็กชัน RPG มุมมอง Isometric ที่พาเข้าสู่โลกไซเบอร์พังก์ซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยสีสันและความหม่น เมืองขนาดมหึมาถูกออกแบบอาคารสูงเสียดฟ้าถูกเชื่อมต่อด้วยสะพาน ทางเดิน และชั้นเมืองที่ซ้อนทับกันหลายระดับ ทุกพื้นที่อาบไปด้วยแสงนีออน ป้ายโฆษณาโฮโลแกรม และเครื่องจักรขนาดยักษ์ที่ทำงานตลอดเวลา จนให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนกำลังเดินอยู่ในมหานครแห่งอนาคตที่ไม่เคยหลับใหล รายละเอียดของฉากแน่นหนาจนระหว่างเล่น เราแทบอยากหยุดเดินเพื่อมองวิวที่แฝงความไซไฟในหลายๆจุด . ด้านเกมเพลย์ผสมผสานการยิงแบบ Twin-stick เข้ากับระบบ RPG ได้อย่างลงตัว ทั้งการอัปเกรดอาวุธ ปรับแต่งตัวละคร และเลือกใช้อุปกรณ์เสริมที่หลากหลาย การต่อสู้มีความดุดันและสะใจ โดยเฉพาะช่วงที่กระสุน แสงเลเซอร์ และเอฟเฟกต์ระเบิดปะทุเต็มหน้าจอ แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้เกมโดดเด่นไม่แพ้การต่อสู้คือซาวด์ประกอบ ที่มีความไซไฟสูง มันช่างกลมกล่อมไปกับกระสุนทุกนัดที่กำลังแผดออกจากรังปืน . แม้เนื้อเรื่องจะไม่ใช่จุดที่โดดเด่นที่สุด แต่โลกของ The Ascent กลับมีเสน่ห์มากพอที่จะดึงให้อยากเดินสำรวจทุกตรอก ทุกซอกมุม รายละเอียดเล็กๆ อย่างผู้คนที่ใช้ชีวิต หุ่นยนต์ที่ทำงานไม่หยุด หรือเสียงประกาศตามท้องถนน ล้วนช่วยเติมเต็มให้เมืองแห่งนี้ดูมีตัวตนจริงๆ สำหรับคนที่หลงใหลบรรยากาศ Cyberpunk และชื่นชอบสถาปัตยกรรมไซไฟที่เต็มไปด้วยรายละเอียด เกมนี้เป็นหนึ่งในผลงานที่สร้างโลกได้สวยงามและน่าจดจำที่สุดเกมหนึ่งในยุคปัจจุบัน . This is one of the dopest games I have ever played. Yeah freezes happen here and there, sometimes the game wigs out and you have to restart. Its whatever tho, the game itself is amazing. The amount of detail put into the world is immense. The combat is amazing. Audio and FX are next level. We need more games like this

Game is actually a really fun co-op rpg. It doesn't have an insane amount of depth to it, but enough to keep you in and enjoying the game. It doesn't crash near as bad as reviews say, just force it into dx11 and it will help (you can also do it in game through settings). I will say, trying to boot it first time did cause my gpu to crash, so there is that. It's definitely not perfect, but I picked it up on sale for around $7 and that is worth the buy I would say.

It's a nice top-down shooter with many ways to play. The normal difficulty is plenty challenging, provided you aren't grossly overleveling throughout the game. The story is also pretty cool, despite having your average dystopian cyberpunk-esque theme where corporations are subverting everyone and blah blah blah. Controls can be pretty intuitive once you get used to them.
