Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 31.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Games like this are where I really wish Steam either had a rating system or a -- (middle) option. The Ascent is beautiful, the gunplay is pretty snappy and satisfying and the story is enough to pass as fine. The bad however almost got me to stop without even finishing. - Bugs and crashes galore. If you try to use the taxi right as you load into an area, the game crashes. In general, the game crashes very regularly. -Annoying and bland enemy types. The enemies are very basic for an aRPG, but when they decide to spice things up and throw something new your way, it's almost always more miserable than fun. Sniper turrets that can chunk you from a mile away while spamming an annoying sound and distracting UI indicator, hacker enemies that are completely invincible and make allies invincible while dealing damage to you and removing your ability to dodge unless you get close enough to hack them back. Robot tanks that only take energy damage otherwise you're shooting them for hours. -Last but not least, the game doesn't respect your time. So many quests are just backtracking. You have a paid taxi you can use to navigate around, but it's limited by sector and entire sections are long and lock you out of using it. The end of the game in particular is a no-go zone so you might get trapped fighting the final boss with mid-range gear if you aren't vigilant It's a cool game, but it has some major flaws and gets tedious rather quickly. If you enjoy aRPGs and the cyberpunk setting, it's worth your time, just temper your expectations and grab it on sale.
The Ascent is a really solid base with seriously beatiful art direction, addicting gamplay and interesting world-building. The asometric veiw takes some getting used to in addition to some...interesting angles in some minuite areas. But overall, I never knew how badly I needed an ARPG with guns untill I remembered I bought this game. This is the first sci-fi space cyberpunk world I've been exposed too, and for all of the good this game does, I feel that the final product including Cyberheist falls quite short of leaving one fully satisfied, though I still feel I got my moneys worth. The game leaves you wanting more, not just in a story standpoint but in a sense that with a little more depth on all cylinders the game would jump up a full letter grade. It's clear from many desolate corners of the game that there was more content planned to be added but never saw light of day. After four years with no updates, it seems safe to say that this game is finished it's development cycle, and we can only hope for a sequel in the future. As rough as this game is it has something special, the world of the Ascent has so much more potential to sqeeze out. Light SPOILER TALK (Critisisms of the Story): The story of the main game is ok...but kinda ♥♥♥♥♥ its pants by the third act. Not that the story set large expectations, as by the end of the second act one can reasonably expect that the story will end flat, which it does. There's no real oomph, just kinda, 'welp, that's done,' and there's a few core problems which lead to this outcome. 1. Their isn't really a consistant 'villain' throughout the game, and the ones that show up have less than a couple paragraphs of lines before they're dealth with. 2. You aren't allowed ANY choice throughout so the status-quo remains the same, but that's nothing to get too mad about in a dystopian setting of immesurable size. I'm just confused that they went with a voiceless protagonist when you don't have any dialouge options... 3. The main story thread revolves around what happened to the Acent Group Board and the secret project they were working on, both of these threads sort of end with a rolling fart and aren't all too shocking. 4. The Cyber Heist DLC doesn't really make up for any of the main stories shortcomings, although they atleast try to have a main villain who taunts you, but his characterization is fairly shallow, as is the commantary he begets from the DLC's main supporting character. SPOILER TALK OVER Aside from the issues of the story, which is still entertaining and interesting despite it's flaws, the side quests make up for it as they are mostly well-written, engaging or interesting enough. As a whole, I belive that the Ascent is worth playing at asking price. It's a solid 7/10 game (THAT'S A GOOD SCORE, FYI) which had potential to be better, and still has that potential with the increasingly slim possibilty of a sequel. A game set in Ascent's world with deeper gameplay mechanics and RPG elements is a sleeper hit just waiting to happen.
Absolutely love this game. Part of the reason I spent so much time in it was that I wanted to go to all of the side-quests. Incredibly beautiful and engaging. The overall mood is depressing wirh humour sprinkled around for balance.
good game.. very ciberpunky
