I really enjoyed my time with this. Fantastic atmosphere, engaging way to be part of the story telling. Most of the puzzles were very good but that final one can go straight to hell.
Wow! The 7th Guest is a first-person interactive puzzle game where you navigate a haunted mansion and its puzzles to solve a mystery. This is the first time I've been genuinely impressed with a VR title's use of tech, these devs did an excellent job integrating previously underutilized vr tech in an interesting way. For example, a big part of VR dev and a lot of the 1st-wave VR experiences was photogrammetry. There are VR experiences where real people are recorded to photogrammetry and then played back in real time in the space in front of you, like a hologram. It looks really neato, has some rough edges, but overall never escaped this box. It was basically only used for tech demos. 7th Guest utilizes this tech for fully-acted in-world live action cutscenes with characters and dialogue! You can really see the spooky ghost memories come to life like the old FMV games this remake is based on. The puzzles are fun, the atmosphere is great, the art direction is lovely, and the actors are stunning. Truly, a must-have VR title.
Absolutely fabulous game, I didn't think I liked escape room / Puzzle games till I played this one. Absolutely loved it, except the last puzzle I just gave up, which is kind of sad because I had enjoyed it all so much, but it kind of felt like a waste of time to some extent.
This is a great remake with a lot of atmosphere and good production values. Now with the flat version coming out, there's no reason not to pick one or the other up as you'll get both versions with one purchase. Pro-consumer practices should be recognized.
Fantastic VR version of a great classic. We need more great VR games like this one. Congratulations Vertigo for a brilliant game built up entirely with VR in mind.
Nice enough atmosphere, but finicky controls and annoying puzzles. In a puzzle where you're supposed to move coffins on the board it would constantly highlight one, but grab the other. In a puzzle with jewelry box/bust you're supposed to touch the gems to switch them to the next state, but the game registers every touch as two, so it's literally impossible to complete. The "hidden" hints on the wall for the doll puzzle are poorly drawn, and the dolls themselves are very fiddly to move. The hint system is completely useless too - it will tell you 2 things you already know and then will solve -- not tell you the solution -- solve the puzzle, as in "mark it in the game's memory as solved and move on". At first I was annoyed at this, but after literally having to skip 2 puzzles due to controls - I got why it's there. Finally, some puzzles are there "just because (they were in the original)". "Enjoy placing 8 queens on a chess board it's definitely a puzzle related to the game and not something that already exists outside of it that we just yanked". I did enjoy the 3D FMVs though - not quite sure how they captured and animated the footage, but it's cheesy in just the right way, that was a highlight of an otherwise mediocre game that I dropped half-way through.
Reseña de The 7th Guest VR

Fun puzzles and cool mansion to explore. The tech for the hologram actors looks cool, it's like a video you can move around and view from any angle.
A great puzzle game. The mansion is mysterious and beautiful. They did a superb work on the art, making it pleasant to just walk around the mansion. There are no cheesy jump scares like in other horror games. Highly recommended.
